This place is HUGE. We didn't have a map and figured we'd wonder and happen on the graves/sites we wanted to see. We wandered for awhile. Plan/map ahead. Enjoyed spending time there. Beautiful.

make sure to see hattie mcdaniel's cenotaph near the lake . her dying wish was to be buried here but segregation laws at the time did not allow it. in 1999, this centotaph was erected in her honor.

This one may seem like an odd one, but once you go there you will understand. Basically it is a beautiful cemetery with its lake and tall palm trees , Also in Summer they show films within the grounds.
This lovely 57-acre cemetery features elegant monuments that whitewash sordid lives. During the summer Cinespea screens classic films on the lawn while Valentino, Davies and Fairbanks sleep nearby.
Must go to Day of The Dead festival once a year, this year was on November 2nd 2013:))
My sanity spot. Beautifully taken care of you can visit peacocks , rabbits , swans, geese and sit and have a nice picnic by the lake .
Day of the Dead is a remarkable festival that's worth the price. Being a good camera and a big memory card and stay until it gets dark to say a lot of the monuments come alive!
They show movies here (Cinespia ) in the summer along with concerts . One of the most unique venues around for either.
This is one of the neatest places to see Holywood stars and where they have laid to rest. You will never see such shrines to loved ones.

Get here by 5 to get a good spot in line and there will still be parking available across the street. Bring food, drink and friends and have a picnic . If you need to pee, they will let you in to do it

Day of the Dead festival , totally awesome. If you have not been try and go next Halloween .
Don't bother with the $5 map of the famous people buried there. Worthless and confusing. Too many people wandering around with maps asking if they know where anyone on the map is.
