We've been coming here for 28 years! First date, marriage proposal, kids' first solid good. An institution. Ask to sit in George's or Casanova's section!
Beautiful ambiance! Good service chille relleno & shredded steak taco was similar to what I had in Mexico, the salsa is too spicy and to die for.
I've been coming here for most of my life. Guacamole Dinner , not on menu, but ask, t's a pick two item combo, but you get soup or salad , a nice sering of guacamole , and and a soft drink for $14.95
Very authentic Mexican food in the heart of LA. The fish tacos were reallllly good. If you like colors then this is the place😉( very colorful interior with green and red lights)
Great place to eat especially after a long day of travel. I had the #1 and it was very good! It is a popular favorite and I definitely recommend it. Will come back here again.
Green corn tamales are the way to go. 2 tamales and 2 fajitas were more than enough for 4 people. Tasty food, strong drinks , friendly staff .
Combo plates! And always a green corn tamale . Waitresses are so sweet. Pretty good service for a busy Friday!
One of my favorite places for Mexican Food in LA. Try the #1 Combo- Shredded beef taco & cheese enchilada with rice & beans...my fav!
Getting the burritos wet with guacamole and sour cream is the way to go. And if you're like me, you'll ask them to leave out the rice .
The best Mexican restaurant in LA. Order the Scratch and enjoy the wonderful service and ambiance. Perhaps you may see a star enjoying their meal!
Cheap , strong drinks ($6.50 for a tall Absolut with club soda ). And good service all around. And the whole Sharon Tate historical thing. I'll leave the food comments to others, though.
Opened 1931 at another location. Mid-century Mexican decor and signs. Originally located at 1st & La Brea; moved to its current location in 1951.
Reservations highly recommended on weekend nights & August 8th, the anniversary of actress Sharon Tate 's last dinner here before her tragic death by The Manson Family Cult.
My fiancé and I sat in the booth where Sharon Tate had her last meal before her tragic death. Kinda creepy but nice decor. The food was excellent and the service was great.
Margaritas are stiff. True, not a El Compadre Flaming Margarita but, still great drink! 🍹 🍸 🍺
Pretty darn good fajitas , but the tortillas and rice and beans kinda upstage the main event .
Your classic sit down Mexican restaurant where you grew up eating in SoCal. But with a history and great margarita option
The margaritas are good and I could come here and get full on margaritas , chips and salsa , and guacamole .
Scratch margaritas are the best in LA! Take a burrito with guacamole and soure cream inside. It is huge! Service is absolutely amazing!
This place is DELICIOUS. Go for the burrito "La Cocina" style with chicken and extra cheese . Don't leave until you finish it!
Get the local favorite the scratch margarita and the number one!
The Coyote Street Tacos are a definite must. Three soft tacos topped with chopped onion and cilantro served with two sides of salsas . Plus they have Hoegaarden on draft !
Been coming here my whole life. They changed up the menu. 1. Ask for the warm salsa . 2. As for the SMOOTH guacamole
Really good mexican food in a city filled with good mexican food .
Wow the History Channel left quite a tip! We love the food here. There is always a good crowd on the weekends. Grab a few drinks!
The scratch margarita and the tacos are off the chain!
Scratch margarita ! Marinated grilled chicken ! Decor!
El Coyote was opened in 1931 the same year James Dean was born and raised on a farm by his aunt and uncle in Fairmount, Indiana. And that same year Dracula was release.
Sharon Tate , eight months pregnant, and a group of friends came here for a quick meal at 10 p.m. on Aug. 8, 1969. It would be her final meal. She would later be murdered by followers of Charles Manson
Who knew? The Torta Mecican Style Sandwich was awesome! I suggest it! Street park if you can.
Delicious blended margaritas for my birthday 💖
Meet Mike (white Hair) at the bar in the corner. Coolest guy ever.
The enchilada suiza is amazing.
Best rice and beans ever, very strong margaritas , and the outfits the waitresses wear are to die for.
Order “the scratch margarita with the ice on the side,” the best, most potent drink they make and you’ll pretty much get 2 for the price of 1.
Scratch Margarita . Mo the bartender . Good job!
Scratch margaritas are good- they are clear!! Chunky guac over creamy guac - I do recommend!!! Great service!
Good margaritas . Try one with Herradura Añejo tequila .
Burritos , combo plates are excellent.
If you're not sure what to order is recommend the #1.
So dark and original perfect place for a shot and a beer and some chat with peeps at the bar
If you're going to get a margarita , get the Scratch. It's got more tequila , and is only 50 cents more than the House Margarita . It's only served on the rocks though, and not blended.
If your looking for the old salsa (warm one) ask for the salsa ranchero
Grab a margarita here before your show at the New Beverly.
For an entree, try the Chorizo Con Huevos or any Combination Plate that includes a Cheese Enchilada !
They donate to anti gay organizations apparently, but they have amazing cheap food and great margaritas !
Tasty food and very good margaritas
Super small and gets packed quickly!
Get the #8. Best tacos in town :)
