The best pub in the Barbican area. Be warned of the gameyness of the amazing Jugged Hare dish that's served in a ceramic jug. You won't go hungry!
Amazing pub . Drink a pint of Jugged Hare while eating a delicious Jugged Hare. Confused? Go to The Jugged Hare and find out. The staff is friendly , impeccable washrooms. My favorite pub in UK so far.
Great breakfasts (& v. moreish). "Breakfast Buffet " allows you to go back for more. Friendly staff & nice decor. Provides the restaurant facilities for the Montcalm Hotel . Free Wifi . Recommended ++
Needs must in the time of Corona and one can book in advance here in a location where much is closed. There were very sad murdered animals hanging from every corner but their vegan main was excellent.
Delicious big portions of Sunday roast . Good variety of wine and beers and friendly staff . Great spot next to Barbican Centre.
Perfect place for a post Barbican had a spot at bar . Friendly and attentive staff and ate a selection of starters. Great food and buzzy intimate atmosphere . Will come again.
Great spot for post Barbican event ! We always go for the starters as a later dinner . Really enjoyed the crab and scallops . Sit at the bar when busy.
Great place to nab a drink after the Barbican. Feels like a country pub in the middle of the city . Their house bitter is decent, but it's really the tweed decked staff that make the place
Gastro pub for the game enthusiast. Great selection of steaks and wine list to go with it. Attentive staff very keen to help.
Specialises in game. Stuffed game heads decorate the walls. Prices not cheap but then it is a premium place. In the summer has a lovely courtyard across the road , otherwise no outside space .
Country-like upscale pub ; good pies ; German beer available; friendly staff . Scary setting with stuffed animals hanging of hooks and on the walls.
Beautiful place, amazing service and tasty food. They got a great choice of wines . Go there for dinner if you go to a concert at the Barbican.
Very nice food and surroundings, found the service to be spot on but then again I was sat right by the service hatch. Very entertaining seat overlooking the kitchen. Probably not for the veggie folks.
Get a table by the window so you can see the kitchen. Rabbit and mutton were excellent choice! Loved soup of the day with salmon tartar !
The chicken roast was out of this world. Extremely generous portions and absolutely delicious!!
Really Nice pub with a traditional and friendly vibe . They serve game here as well .
Ask for the special rabbit with smashed potatoes . Is soooo good.
Great food, great beer , great atmosphere and really friendly staff . What more could you want?
Unbeatable Sunday Roast ! But leave space for the dessert as well , especially the ice cream is amazing!
Excellent menu. Can't go wrong with anything. But whatever you do, order the globe artichoke .
Nice beer , game meat (from hunting), and really peculiar vibe
Good gastro pub style food at expensive restaurant prices. Nice, but not sure it's worth it
Great Argentine Red - Felino Vina Cobos Malbec 2011. More fruity , slight hint of oak, no real influences of vanilla . Rich, yet smooth.
The Sunday roast is fantastic!! The veg is so fresh and colourful. Just make sure you ask for extra gravy .
Nice place to go for a drink after the Barbican
Get the wild game special . Tonight, hare stew with kale and potatoes . So yum!
Best Bloody Mary I've had in London. Roast with trimmings was off the chain. So happy.
Burger and fish all good, service good and great choice of beer and wine
Go for the game, anything from the rotisserie, or the pork . Always top quality.
Great atmosphere, food and service. Will definitely be returning!
Bar food for a snack is great!
Amazing cod fillet and 'fish market ' is great!!!! And good wine !
Flight of three - pinot gris , chardonnay and pinot noir - all from Marjan Simcic, Goriska.
Possibly the most expensive pint in London. However I'd recommend the restaurant if you want to eat game!
Sunday roast was absolutely delicious.
Soooo much taxidermy , don't go if you don't like stuffed animals looking at you. Handy for a late night drink after the Barbican
Lovely interior; deceptive from the street. Looks/feels posh w/out excessive prices. Not for the squeamish, with taxidermy everywhere.
Brilliant English food . Pricey but worth it
The seasonal food is usually pretty good but the staff can be a bit slack - unfamiliar with the menu, selections not available some 30 minutes after ordering and slow service. But the beer is good!
Wine and wild game . Really good together.
Not cheap but a must for fans of game
Location is perfect for a pre-Barbican show meal. Not very good beer selection and massively over-priced food considering the quality.
Order their namesake, the jugged hare, for a very pleasing meal
Usually a good time there. But on April 1 2017 the pub was swarmed by very aggressive 'travellers' , they took our seats . Staff were told and did nothing. We left because we did not feel safe.
Good restaurant for wild game , but also nice beers at the pub
Cosy bar area need to revisit to try the food
3 portion in 1 jug. We would appreciate if we had 1 plate served for each of us
Wonderful scampi and scotch eggs . Definitely worth a try
The toilets are amazing. Use all the toiletries!
Amazing private room downstairs in the wine cellar .
Nice food and nice atmosphere. Great place for after work drinks - Katerina Kerr
Beautiful building and friendly service. Good quality food, a little on the pricey side though. - Vic McGin
Waterside cafe is an inexpensive and good value place to eat with a choice of hot and cold dishes and desserts. You can get a main meal, dessert and drink for well under 15 pounds. - Helen Forrest
One of my favourite places to see live music - so much atmosphere - Justin
One of my favourites. Sound is incredibly good and the cheap seats offer a good view - Alvaro Rodriguez
