An oldie, but a goody. Sit at the extremely old wood bar top and have yourself an SF classic – a piping hot bowl of Clam Chowder served in a hulking sourdough bread bowl . WinstonWanders.com
So you are here anyway. Make it worth by getting a spicy Bloody Mary and gobble down a shot a their home made clam juice and oven baked bread .
So happy to see this SF institution reopened! And the menu has kept many of the classics. Look past the exterior decor which are a bit reminiscent of a kitschy beachside seafood spot.
Been coming here for 20 years with my dad. It's not nearly the dive it once was, but every meal still starts off with fresh French bread and a shot of clam juice .
I went mostly to experience the old-timey ambiance, but the food itself is good! Not particularly innovative, but tasty and plentiful. They must be doing something right to be in business this long...
Really fun. Good martinis -- ask for jalapeño stuffed olives . Fresh seafood -- the skillets with crab and mussels and shrimp are buttery goodness.
The "poached salmon " was very good. A little pricey compared to my usual dining experiences and they have a limited selection. Everything we ordered was tasty though.
Calimari was very crispy ! And the iron skillet shrimp was awesome
Loved their cioppino ! Delicious ????
Great food, good atmosphere. Try the crab enchiladas . I have a hard time ordering anything else here. So good.
Classic SF staple. Any of the iron skillets are great
The clam is good! Ciopinno too!
Yes.... The house made bread !
Any pasta options won me ovah ????
Shrimp skillet and fries !
Craving for a seafood meal, feel free to come in to The Old Clam House.
Louie Salad , and fish sandwich . Wow
Crab , crab sandwich and chowder .
Enjoyed the food! Some really good sandwiches .
Go just for the bread and clam chowder .
Just ate here today and got the crab and muscles . They made us sick. They both were old, tasted wrong and didn't look right. We sent it back but still felt ill after eating what we ate.
I was excited to finally get to try this place, however the food was not edible. Pasta wasn’t cooked, definitely not handmade . Definitely not al dente either.
The benedicts come on french bread .
Every thing.
The gent and I were very excited to come here... It's so cute ! The food was okay, just okay. We probably won't be back.
try the chili beer !!!
Tried the crab alfredo today. Extremely disappointed. Sauce tasted like it came from a jar. So sad
No more cherrystone clams , big dissapointment!!
The place is under new management...food is not as good.
Poor man's cioppino is the best!!!
Meh. Not the same.
Great fish and chips. Seasoned fries make it more interesting and salad on the side feels healthier! - David Auerbach
Make your own mimosas are only $20 on Sundays. Bottle of prosecco and a little orange juice at brunch is perfect. - Adrienne Olds
Outstanding ahi tuna and watermelon appetizer. Also recommend peel and eat shrimp. - Olessya K
Nice people so happy we got a Lowes and not that other place. Ask for information, the employees are more than happy to help! - Christopher Gautschi
A SF must. There are so many different types of flavors and they are the nicest. They will let you sample flavors. Even when it's busy, you get you ice cream with a smile. - Eve Chou
