Lakefront Trail is a hiking trail Grant Park Chicago located in United States.
Lake Michigan Lakefront (at N Lake Shore Dr) Chicago , IL 60611 United States
This trail is one unique aspect that separates Chicago from other cities . Great to run and enjoy amazing views of the lake and city .
The most bike friendly city we have been to! The Lakefront Trail was our favorite part of Chicago. If visiting, either bring your own bike to the city , or rent some bikes and explore the Lakefront!
We biked down from Lincoln park to the field museum . The view of the city is sensational from the bike path .
One of the best ways to navigate the city ’s scenic lakefront (and many neighborhoods ) is on a bicycle along the lakefront trail. Read more
Take a walk across the lakefront and bask in the beauty of Lake Michigan. Breathe the fresh air and feel the wind against your face as you head the waves crashing.

The perfect skater's path. 17 miles of paved awesomeness with epic sights at every turn. Sure, a few rough spots (Mile 11-12 etc) and some crowding, but overall a fantastic workout. 9.99/10
Really nice trail for walking/running, biking . Pretty busy when the weather is nicer. Also goes by a number of nice parks and beaches
I often take this path, don't be surprised if you see me here... And I'll probably try to talk to you. Let's not make it awkward
Amazing views of the city skyline. But be careful, no railing! Have proper running shoes bc the waves from jet skiers do crash against the trail and make it slippery????
Go take a hike . On the lake front trail that is. Just stay to the right so faster moving bikes and people can easily pass. Take a break and sit by the lake .
College Kids: Don't gain the Freshman 15 and take advantage of this gorgeous Lakefront Trail. Walk, run, or bike alone or with friends. Bonus: jump in the water afterwards!
While the beaches close at 11p the lake shore path is open all night to people looking to bike , run, or walk... It's a great place to spend time on a beautiful night!
The best way to see the city skyline. Run, walk or bike along this 18-mile trail along Lake Michigan in the summer, spring, fall and winter (if you can brave those Chicago temperatures).
Take time to slow down and look around you because few people have the privilege to have the view of the Lake and the City in such grandeur. Also, don't be an ass and smoke by runners and bikers .
Make sure to join the scores of people on the miles of trail along Lake Shore Drive to run, walk, bike or roller blade . Make sure to always have your camera ready.
I love this place! It has a great scenic view of Chicago!

Park at Montrose and bike along the lakefront past McCormick Place. Best early morning-gets crowded after 10 on weekends.
One of my favorite places in the city . Lots of good scenery (nature and people alike)
Great for running and biking , but be careful on warm summer weekends! It can get crowded .
Great place to exercise and enjoy the view of Chicago's skyline. Rent a Nike and enjoy the stroll.
There's a long pier that stretches well into the lake , near Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary --- bike along the shore and you'll see it.
Run in the mornings before bike commuters flood the trail , but smile at them - it's a place for everyone!
Be careful when crossing the path at Montrose , Wilson and Lawrence. Bikes have the right of way, but a lot of cars don't see it that way!
Sweet place to ride. Wear goggles at night to avoid bugs in the eye.
If your a runner beware of bikers ! Also if the water is rough the waves could come up and knock you over.
Riptide tip: If heading south toward Oak Street, turn around. If north, consider exiting through the underground tunnel . The curve between Division and Oak gets dangerous if high waves wash ashore.
Awesome running trail with beautiful views . Makes exercising not so bad.
Go for a run and get hot. Then jump in the water to instantly cool off (and I do mean instantly).
This paved, 18-mile path along scenic Lake Shore Drive is often packed with joggers, bike commuters and tourists alike. Read more
