The National Museum of Play® is the only collections-based museum in the world devoted solely to play.
1 Manhattan Square Dr (at Chestnut St.) Rochester , NY 14607 United States
Excellent place to allow your children to learn through play. Exhibits include science, reading and fun interactive elements. There are also classic video games and three places to eat.
You'll find the national Toy Hall of Fame , the International Center for the History of Electronic Games AND a butterfly garden all under the same roof. Spend all day here, you'll need it.
One of my favorite places in Rochester! This museum is so much fun! Don't forget to get the butterfly garden ticket!
Fantastic and fun! We spent four hours here but could've stayed longer. Old-school pinball machines & arcade games upstairs were a hit with the whole family.
The exhibits , displays and interactive exhibits will entertain young & old for hours! You can even shop at Wegmans ! Eat earlier and go around the noon hour when most are packing up for lunches & naps.
So much for the kids to do! The Wegman 's store was a hit and the video game section brings back memories.
Great hands-on kids museum with lots to see and do. The Sesame Street doorstop was a fun nostalgic stop.
Everything is awesome here. Fun for kids of all ages, something for everyone
A unique collection of the history of games and play. And The butterfly garden is amazing.
It's a great place...though it get packed quick then it's no longer fun!!! Best place to go is Friday and Saturday night at 5-8 lol
It's the greatest place for kids to play!! I would suggest you buy a membership;. Is the best investment you could get
The mini wegmans is basically the coolest thing in the entire world. I was like 5 the first time I went; I'm 18 now and it's always my first stop.
This place is fun for adults too. Sometimes we just attend the museum , not even during the adult-themed "happy hours ".
Always check the inside line . If your a member you can usually get right to the front! Especially for special events !
adults are free on the carousel only if accompanying a child 3 or under
Great place to spend the day with the kids. There's something for all ages.
Allow your children to roam free. Plus adults will get a kick out of some of the video games and retro toys .
Home of the national Toy Hall of Fame , which opened to the public in 1998. To date, 44 toys have made it into the National Toy Hall of Fame , including 2009 inductees: the Ball, Big Wheel® & Game Boy®
There is always something's for any kid to do, young or old
Japan is here! Catch Japanese drumming, martial arts , costumes , food, & culture. And make friendship bracelets-all in this new exhibit . :-)
So much fun, the 2 arcades bring you back to your childhood love it

Great food and an awesome place to bring kids to learn about history.
Taxi and slide and Lego village - it is all fab!!
Worth visit. Buy one free one for college students .
You have to pay to play most of the classic video games on the 2nd floor. Tokens are 8 for $1. But there is an all in one game unit near the dodgeball game that is free to play.
Play lumar lander in the video game area
Brings back childhood memories. You'll have fun playing with the little kids and big kids at heart :)
Go on Fri or sat evenings when the museum is open until 8pm!
The vintage Bill Gray's is a must for lunch
The best exit to visit while you're in Rochester

Sit on the Sesame Street steps
Butterfly garden is beautiful but very muggy in the winter. Be prepared.
Houses the National Toy Hall of Fame , too. Great place to bring people who are visiting the city . Read more
Check out the glowing dance floor in the arcade !
Forgot something at home? The museum has free supplies of necessities, like diapers, on-hand for minor mishaps.
PSA: Masks are "encouraged, but not required." Disappointing considering the age of their target audience, so plan accordingly.
Berenstain Bear play area - boys loved it!
Find a comfy chair and let the kids (including the one in you) roam free
