U.S. Customs and Border Protection

If you travel frequently to/from the US, then it is recommended you get a NEXUS/Global Entry card. It will cut down your time in pre-clearance to just minutes.

If you get SSSS on your boarding pass , be prepared to have your bags searched and a personal security screening.

Full of people at 5:30am but I went through in less than 20 min. Have your papers ready and just follow the instructions. TSA and DHS are very efficient

When your name comes up in Step 2 your checked luggage has been photographed and you can proceed to getting fancy stamps on your boarding pass

They've come a long way in the last several years- processing is quick and efficient, particularly for Global Entry passengers.

Make sure you arrive three hours early! Especially if you’re checking a bag.

Remember that you are still on Canadian soil and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms still apply.

If you need visa to enter USA, then you'll take another line , which normally is longer!!! So be early at the airport

Takes ages to get thru but if your flight is just about administration person will push you thru

The new connecting flight customs system is very good.

Here at 3:45am and they're closed. Despite my plane boarding at 5:35am, indications are that they don't open until 5am.

Get a Nexus card . Worth the $ to buy yourself a pass around the lines .

Even when the priority line is closed, if you ask nicely the security people may invent one for you.

best time to fly out, if possible, is after 10 am!!

there are no long lines currently for the transfer although it is saturday.

line ups are aggravating so waste time by leaving a tip while you wait ;)

Make sure you walk up to the custom officer talking on your phone. They love that.

Don't visibly use your cell phone here as you may be yelled at by US CBP agents and threatened to be thrown out of the US Customs & Immigration area.

Just about the worst. Even if there's no line or you're Nexus/Global Entry , don't expect any kind of efficiency.

Bring a snack and a book to pass the time waiting in line .

Get an ESTA.....it's much more civilized.

Holy long line ... even at 4am!

Get here early. Enough said.

People are friendly here...the line goes pretty fast...
