A truly classic NYC institution. The most Jewish of Jewish delis you'll find. It's not the same as it was when it was downtown on 2nd Ave, but the food is still pretty damn good.
I like the guy behind the counter here he's always fast to make a fast joke to put a smile on your face. I like the area in Manhattan so I come here a few times a month when I go to my doctors appt.
I always get the same thing- pastrami on rye with mustard and a Dr. Brown's Cel-Ray soda . I am never disappointed. Chicken soup with kreplach and potato pancakes are also good.
My colleague will argue a better pastrami sandwich is to be had at Katz's, but I'll politely disagree — 2nd Avenue's pastrami sandwich is the real cured meat champion. Read more
Still the best pastrami sandwich in NYC — or anywhere. Excellent matzah ball soup . Expensive but the real deal.
Get the pastrami Reuben toasted. It is out of this world. The pastrami is melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, not good salty. The cole slaw it came with was good too, what a nice surprise.
There are very few delis left in NY, perish the thought. The Carnegie is closed -- for now. This is kosher with great sour pickles and health slaw on the table. Turkey , corn beef sandwiches to die 4.
Best Jewish Deli in NY, Bubbe-approved. Nosh on Matzoh Ball Soup , Hot Pastrami , Pickles , and Chopped Liver schmear, then wash down the kosher feast with a shot of Chocolate Egg Cream !
Triple decker sandwich . Something like pastrami corn beef and salami . Biggest sandwich I'd had and enjoyed it more than Katz. Moister and loved that it came with quality mustard .
Great traditional deli with an amazing array of choices. That said, you can't go wrong with a classic pastrami , rye , cole slaw and mustard .
Great classic NYC deli food. The best half-sour pickles in Manhattan. Can't go wrong with the Corned beef or pastrami . Great matzoh ball soup !
Fantastic spot! I'd recommend the half sandwich and Matzah Ball soup combo. Pastrami sandwiches here are huge so the portion won't be a problem. The meat's delicate, wonderful texture, hardly any fat!
One sandwich feeds two people. Matzo Ball soup is fun - love that they pour it for you!
An authentic kosher deli that has remained consistent since 1954- great for catering events or just strolling in for the best Challah and Rye . We love getting our pastrami fix here!
Classic NY deli with terrific pastrami sandwich and matzoh ball soup . Fav cold cut sandwich is the tongue . Get the fatty portion and you will not regret it.

My friend Adam says, "Katz’s is iconic, but the food there is second fiddle in my opinion. 2nd Ave for the classics, like Matzoh Ball Soup , Blintzes, Potato Pancakes , Pastrami Sandwich ."
The landmark Jewish deli serves classic matzo ball soup , pastrami sandwiches , and potato pancakes to loyal New Yorkers and tourists alike.
The sandwiches are huge but delicious. Combos are fine but don't over think it - pastrami or brisket sandwiches on their own are delicious
Big sandwiches , large matzo balls . Good service . Less expensive compared to Deli places on 7th. Bring a hefty appetite. Pickle heaven. (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
A perfect lunch to split for two – the best Matzoh Ball Soup in the city , followed by Pastrami on Rye and pickles on the side.
lovely date with my sweet girlfriend. Pastrami sandwich , matzo ball soup , nice setting!!
great service and do yourself a favor and let the wait staff tell you what is best for the day. Corned beef was outstanding!
Another great Murray Hill classic NY deli although this version is a shell of what it used to be. And when it was actually on 2nd Avenue. But go here and eat well .
Get the hot pastrami triple decker . Don't fret if you can finish it. That's what doggy bags were made for.
Every time I go to New York it's my mandatory stop. Nothing beats their pastrami sandwich and the sass of the staff !
Pastrami was a bit dry, but a great experience as always. Matzoh ball soup is a must
Expensive, but fabulous. Parking is a hassle. Great matzah ball soup , while I'm not big on chopped liver , theirs is delicious.
As far as I am concerned, it is the best Jewish deli in New York. My order never changes: piping hot matzoh ball soup , pastrami on rye , extra mustard , extra (full sour) pickles on the side, black cher
Pastrami sandwich and the chopped liver ????
Great food. The pastrami and hot brisket are both very good. Service was friendly .
They are bit pricey , but they do have the best matzo ball soup in NYC and their chopped liver is kind of amazing.
Hands down the best deli in NY - friendly service , great food and most of all its authentic . Don't waste your time anywhere else, especially Carnegie - yuck!
Pastrami sandwich is incredible w some mustard on the side. Matza soup is the best I have had. V friendly service too.
Just what we wanted proper kosher deli had all the required food items a must
Pastrami on a hero is the way to go (extra lean) potato knish also so delish!
Best matzo ball soup I've had to date! Texture and consistency is perfect and not too dense.
The best Corned Beef sandwich of any of NYC's amazing delis . Make sure they bring you some russian dressing .
Yet another vote for best matzah ball soup (try a kreplach as well !) plus great pastrami , pickles , and more. Quality Jew food, but pricey .
Best pastrami sandwich in the city . Hands down.

Amazing homey environment and tasty food!
Pastrami , corned beef , & roast beef are all top-notch sandwiches . I'd say pick 1 or try a combo.
My favorite dish is chicken in a pot. Chicken , matzo balls , carrots noodles and you get to keep an awesome jar
hot pastrami sandviç nefis.. food network food wars'ı bileğinin hakkıyla kazanmış belli.. turşu da harika..
Their matzoh ball or mushroom barley soup is always unreal. my favorite is their triple Decker sandwich #3, substitute the salami with pastrami . Amazing!!
