Buy from SDC MEAT (beside the stairs going ro CCA).. Fresh meat everyday.. No added preservatives in longganisa and tocino .. Good tasting sandwich ham ! :)
Buy fresh veggies and fish here but be sure to check other stall prices before finalizing a sale. A little haggling goes a long way. Found some hard to find items here like szechuan peppercorn .
It's P30 if you buy oysters by the kilo, but if you buy those by the rice sack (50kg), it's just P600! With those fresh, huge and good quality oysters , consider it a steal! Oh, there's cheap uni, too!
Just bought a half kilo of squid (120) and half kilo of sea mantis for (100) ???? better buy your garlic , onions , etc at the grocery cos if you don't know how to bargain it'll cost you more. ????
If you like Uni/sea urchin roe , try the fish sections in the morning. A small topperware of Uni cost about 350 pesos. Compared to what you get injapanese restaurants , it's very cheap .
For meat requirements...Juliet's meat shop just at the foot of the staircase. The best Sukiyaki cut sirloin perfect for tapa .
Be here either early morning or right after lunch ... The meat are freshly delivered during these times.
You can buy fresh tuna and salmon here for your sashimi . :)
The place to buy cheap fish - and still in good quality - is at the side of Farmer's Market closer to EDSA.
Sashimi grade tuna is cheap . Just ask your fishmonger to cut the tuna thinly. They tend to cut it quite thickly which is not so good.
