Fried Ikan Bilis (anchovies ) is one of my all time favourites here but do note that it's pretty spicy . Awesome blend of flavours.
Excellent Hainanese fried meehoon w. cili padi . Sizzling sirloin steak , medium well , came out tender and juicy. The 2 sides; not my favourite but light enough to accompany the thick and hearty steak .
Their New Zealand Lamb Chop was a little disappointing. I've been eating here for 40 years now and the first time that the quality has gone down. The meat cuts were good but the sauce was off.
Mushroom Soup was excellent. Made from real ground mushrooms and not the off the shelf item.
Wedges and veggies comes with the Lamb Chop set. Both were excellent.
You have a choice of choosing between the sizzling version and the non sizzling version. Their unique dish here is the previous.
Salad comes with the Lamb Chop set and it was good. The veggies were fresh too
I like the old school setting. Just like their HQ in Jln TAR, back in 1920s. They should play some Lindy hop / swing music type to suit the theme. :)
Coca Cola comes in a long glass. Must be from a long bottle but it was sufficiently gassy.
While the Hainanese chicken chop here isn't bad, it's not great either. The mushroom soup is heavenly. The banana used for the fritters desert is just too ripe. Overall, excellent service by the crew.
If your expectation was for this place to be a nice place to relax , u will def be disappointed. It's more of a cafe style where ppl chit chat. The food is decent and portions are big. Noodles r nice
Overpriced steaks & main course but they have this really good garlic cheese bread . Crunchy, cheesy and can taste the garlic taste too. Just nice.
The bun that came with the soup was cold. It should be a hot bun and only then, the texture would blend with the soup .
Please make reservation before coming to the restaurant . Usually full house in the weekend. Should make reservation a few days in advance
My first time to this outlet and the Pot Pie was yum and so was the Baked Crabs
The oxtail soup is on point.
Hainanese Chicken Chop must try. Remember must mentioned the word Hainanese. Otherwise you will get the normal chicken chop .
Even when full with a dinner crowd the service was exceptionally fast and the food lives up to the reputation *thumbs up*
Go where as u like it don't make a difference cos the branding is there to stay! We serve old school hainanese western cuisine not new contemporary cuisine!
Their famous hainanese chicken chop is only so so...same goes to chicken cordon bleu , mushroom soup and oxtail soup ...
For those who say that the place is smokey...pls. This is what the place originally popular. And service level was much worse & being told off by waiters previously & hence why they are popular too :)
Awesome food! Nice atmosphere. It's quite expensive , but you'll get what you pay for.
it's astonishing that people would make reservation to dine here.. the food and price totally overrated. the environment makes you feel like dining at night markets(pasar malam).
Venue is good high ceiling and new cooling. Hainanese fried noodle is good. Chicken cordon blue was ok. Great fr casual lunch .
Hainanese chicken chop , assorted sizzling steaks , mixed grill. Large portions .
The Hainanese Fried Mee Hoon tastes awesome... yum yum just like I used to have years ago at their branch in Jalan TAR...
Yet to try the main meals. Just had dessert and coffee . Was just so-so..might come back when I have nothing else to eat.
My childhood memory of eating in Coliseum in KL as a young boy has been shattered after eating here
The waiting list is so long. Pls do reserve a table before dining here. By the way, their KL original outlet is still open. I'll rather got here.
..’too bad blanc 1674 do not come in taps..otherwise it would be lovely to go with your bistecca’????
Despite the negative comments regarding the food and ambience actually it's not that bad after all.I must say the food here taste pretty decent with generous serving potions.
Hainanese Chicken Chop is called Mexico Chicken Chop at the coffee chop near my house which cost half the price than here and it taste better
The long & established original Coliseum started in Kuala Lumpur since 1921.
It's our 2nd time but it's our last. Horrible experience. The bread that accompanied the oxtail soap had ants crawling on them when it arrived. We sent it back and never got a replacement.
tried dining here on 1st day opening 7July2013 but place was fully booked till those who had reservations still had to queue & wait /swt
Like the hainanese coffee . You can choose by cup or pot for 2 or 3. :)
Hainanese coffee is worth to order. The chicken chop is good to
Had a sirloin steak there and it was nice! Place is a little hot though
Awesome place to have a meal! P/s: a little noisy during peak time.
Knew that this won't be that good just by looking at the colour. Overall 4/10.
Food quality and service dropped drastically. Their sizzling grill no longer as good as Jalan Tar back in olden days.
Great stick house, but the ventilation is bad hence making you smell sizzling grilled chicken
Awesome tenderloin sizzling steak ! Had a great family meal there.
Holiday and weekend, better come earlier before 12pm to avoid queing.
Must try Hainanese noodle (mee hailam )
Food wasn't as great anymore compared to the original branch in KL. The only thing I would go back for here is the fried ice-cream.
The mee mamak is good. Spicy
Very weird vibe. Restaurant setup and glass ware feels like i'm in a hotel coffee house
The food and vibe here is superb! And the portions are HUGE!!
Lots of tables reserved but empty! Lots of people waiting/queing outside for tables! A rather stupid system!!!they shud not entertain reservations !!!
The garlic steak and grill Lamb is great. Most important the Service is excellent. staff friendly. The ambience great too. Mimi - Mimi Tan
I love the Escargot here! Came here few times & majority foods I ate were tasty, one of my favorite place to have western food - Sylvia Low
My childhood restaurant. My family always celebrates b'days and anniversaries here. ❤ their escargots, french onion soup, chicken maryland, chicken a la kiev, chicken a la king and their lobster. - Tim Philip Chee Keat Gan
Delicious grilled lamb chop with a wow mint sauce at The Red Olive Restaurant! Set incl. barley drink and desert RM18.80 ! King's Pounder burger????????. Will be coming back to try D'Laksa Johor! - Maria D.
Come here for fresh, yet reasonably priced, meat.. beats cold storage any day.. also has a range of imported goods, all at very fair prices. Highly recommended. - Kimberly Miki
