Black Sand Beach is a beach Hāna located in United States.
Waianapanapa Rd. Hāna , HI 96713 United States
It is beautiful, but it's more of a black rock beach . It is still worth going. The water is so clear and clean . There are also lave tubes too.
There’s a neat lava tube / cave you can go in and see the water from the other side. Would recommend the mini hike on the left side (down and through beach and up) but you need the shoes for it.
Beautiful exotic looking beach . Worth the diversion from the road to Hana. There are a couple caves to swim at too. I believe this is the only black sand beach on the Island .
Spectacular views , the shore is fill of black pebbles and there's a small cave which has some good views too.
This was for me the only enjoyable stop on our hana drive . If you are in the area it's definitely worth to stop for a while.
Very cool beach . Black sand. Lava rocks. Bit of hiking . On a sunny day, worth the ride!
It’s more of a black pebble beech, but there are some sandy parts. Don’t forget to go up trail and get pictures off the cliff.
One of the most well-known myths in Hawaii says that any visitor who takes rock or sand away from the Hawaii islands will suffer bad luck until the native Hawaiian elements are returned.
Fantastic volcano area, along with trees in the surroundings,a must see when you visit Maui!
On a day trip to Hana you should definitively stop at this black sand beach. Pretty amazing sight and good place to take a break from the drive.
How often do you get to see a black sand beach? Go here if you're in the area. It's magical but can get crowded . The caves are decent but not worth the effort.
Come to see the tourists pack in. Just don't stay long. You may needs shies the "sand" is really small rocks.
This is nice if you haven’t seen it before, but it’s not really a great beach . I’d probably skip on future Hana drives .
My sisters and I had a lunch in the rain at the picnic benches before exploring. What a cool day!
Nice big waves all the way to shore . Highly recommended
Awesome place to take the kids. The rocks are a little rough so reef walkers are a good idea
Get in the cave when it's raining, the show is fabulous
Breathtakingly gorgeous! Sand is rough almost like pebbles, though.
Don't forget to check out the caves when your there
Gorgeous! If you ever get the chance, go here! =)
Beautiful black beach !
A beach , but make it Dark Mode.
Way too cool
Cool lava tube !!
This lava tube provides spectacular geyser displays, when during the Winter months swells dramatically increase the level of water gushing in. When snapping photos keep a safe distance from the water. - The Ritz-Carlton
The trail isn't too hard to find but it can be a difficult walk there. It's a nude beach (optionally), so be ready for that. The reward for trekking is a perfect beach with lots of privacy. - Sam S
Gorgeous black sand beach. Ample picnic tables make this a great spot to stop for a picnic. - Jennifer McKinney
Visit the black sand beach, adjacent lava tube & swimming cave (behind parking lot). Hike on the trail to the north of the beach for great views & crashing waves. - Haley B
Coconut shrimp and coconut pie - best I’ve ever had! Great views across the bay. - Priya Tungrus
