Get there early on weekends or wait in the line ! If you can find a seat grab a pastry and a coffee and relax. When you're ready to leave, pick a loaf of bread for later, you will not regret it.
Sub Rosa bakes nearly perfect croissants , but they also know how to add the right ingredients to elevate the humble roll. Our favorite version is the salami and cheese croissant .
best bread on East Coast, wood fired , handmade , delicious and their pastries are buttery and rich - try a borek and fruit tarte for lunch with a classic loaf to go.
Fig & Manchego tart , chocolate croissant , almond croissant (only on weekends), and I dare share the *dramatic pause* chocolate bomb . <<<currently closed for inspection>>>
Quiche is $5 and it's a great lunch . I hereby decree that Sub Rosa bakery has the best quiche in Richmond, Virginia. Eat quiche .
The lamb borek and feta & greens were excellent as well as the coffee . Friendly service and nice neighborhood atmosphere.
Try the cheese and salami croissant . Or anything, really. Also: Sub Rosa is the next best thing to having a Lamplighter in Church Hill .
Super friendly & knowledgeable staff serving up superb baked goods ....with seasonal options!
Best latte I've had in awhile. The pain au chocolat was delicious too!
The pastries are SO flaky. Try a croissant
pistachio and ham&cheese were both ????
Everything is delicious. But I do love the fig and manchego the most.
Eat all the bread . Check out their Sunday night series with Pizza 2000.

I could eat the croissants all day long.
