This is definetely my favorite live music club on Frenchmen street. Great local jazz music , but it gets a little too crowded . They charge $5 cover , but it is definetely worth it!

Although the tourists are well aware of the Spotted Cat now thanks to Treme and Conan, it is still a great place for live music ♪ Bring cash, and stay friendly . Buy & support local music and art !! ☺

Kayla!

A treat if you're looking for a chill atmosphere and excellent music . Thought the drinks were overpriced, but that's an argument made anywhere in the Quarter. Try to get there early for a good barseat

Praveen Padman

Nice hangout place to sip on beer/wine/cocktail and listen to local pretty talented musicians . You can easily spend hours there. Usually no covers . One drink min and cash only

E Mar

Hands down my favorite place on Frenchman street. The band playing was amazing. Drinks are heavily poured, but it's cash only . Ladies - there is a piano in the restroom !

Foxxy B

Cash only , but the music is incredible & the drink selection rocks (e.g. they have fernet). Music tends to end by 2am.

Sannidhi 🐾

💯 worth the $5 coverage. Come early for the set or stand on toes like we did for the rest of the evening. This was our favorite jazz club on Frenchmen.

Tim Eskew

Small club w/ big sounds. Cash only so bring some green as there’s a one drink minimum. Shotgun Jazz Band is the champ, Panorama brings the Klezmer and Frenchmen St. All-Stars is so worth a listen!!

DoubleDeuce

A classic spot for live music on Frenchmen Street. A little smaller than the big spots but tons of character and energy. A little more divey and grimey compared to nearby spots.

Marigny9

DON'T MISS!-Every Mon & Thur at 4pm. Sarah McCoy will make u weep. Janice Joplin meets Adele with a little Honky Tonk/Otherwordly spirit thrown in. Must be of strong mind & body 4 the experience.

Katerina Matsa

One of the best places I visited in NOLA. Meschiya Lake & the Lil' Big Horns were there. Her voice is amazing. There was a $5 cover , but definitely worth it. If you want, you can buy her cd on site.

The Neighborhood Korner

Alt-Rocka Countrybilly Serial Killer Blues ,” Shawn Williams sounds like a dirtier-minded Elvis in the back of some roadhouse saloon with some sad-eyed cowboys. Yes she is that good!

Marigny9

DON'T MISS!: Every Sat night from 6-10pm. You can't stop yourself from clapping in time to Panorama Jazz Band . Want some Klezmer?-OK. Trad Jazz?-Sure. Beguine, Milonga, Chocheck, Waltz?-They'll do it.

Marie LaCassa

What an amazing find. We came here two nights on our NOLA vacation - excellent live music and fun vibe. Cash only bar ! But they gave an atm available.

Jay de C

Grab a beer , sit up on the bench and listen to some great jazz . Gets busy. $5 cover after about 9. Cash only . Worth a visit!

Maarja-Liis Merimetsa

Great place with great atmosphere and a nice crowd. A must-go in New Orleans! Slightly too cold though due to the fans.

Adrian Phillips

Drinks are cheap so bring plenty of cash to keep things moving. Great music so be sure to save some money for the musicians as you'll be having a blast.

Tony M

I could not stop smiling in this place. Awesome jazz and such a fun atmosphere , felt transported to another era. People younger than me doing the lindy hop! Must go here.

Denette

Great tiny place to catch stellar talent. You need to buy a drink and there's a $5 cover on the weekend.

Michael Ambjorn

Leave the drama at the door - and kick back with the cool cats. A jazz joint not to be missed on any NOLA trip.

Kaustubh Thirumalai

The absolute best jazz/blues/funk/AllOfTheAbove spot in Frenchman. You can never go wrong with the Spotted Cat!

Nick

Vehemently cash only , which is not a bad thing. Best music venue in the city if you ask me, which you’re reading this, so you asked me.

Jason H.

Awesome music . Walk in and chill . Must do if visiting New Orleans - Frenchmen Street rocks!

Becky OtterBot

Jenn is the BEST bartender in town ! Cash only bar , fantastic music and great scene. My favorite spot!!

Meghan Burek

Some of the most talented musicians on Frenchman play at The Spotted Cat! Always have a great time here!

Shelley MacGregor

Great jazz !. $5 cover but stayed for 3 sets of music . Several other musicians stopped in & played along. 1 drink min.but no way to enforce as it was impossible to get to bar except btwn sets.

Christina S

Great jazz music ! The Cottonmouth Kings were incredible. It gets packed so arrive before the headliner's set begins for a good spot.

Isel Aimee

awesome place! make sure to bring cash for cover & drinks. if not, there's an ATM inside.

Dr. Matt Antonucci

Great spot to listen to live jazz . Heads up.. it’s cash only .

Chris

Cash only bar . Never a cover. Escape the 80s music on Bourbon and head to Frenchman for awesome jazz bands at The Spotted Cat.

Talisa Chang

No cover, mostly traditional jazz/dixieland. Probably my favorite Frenchmen St. Place. Try to see Meschiya Lake or the Jazz Vipers there (from Al)

Constantin W

Great live music and no cover, just grab a beer at the bar !

Colin Lee

Free jazz music ; low key and chill vibe. Everyone is happy. Great place to check out

Marie La Rue

Great place for Jazz music . Small space with casual and energetic crowd. Cash only .

Cat Weaver

A damned good bar with great old style atmosphere and solid jazz . One of the best places I visited in NOLA.

Lucas Alvim

This place is amazing. I've been there three days in a row and every band was incredible.

Jacson Boeing

It's a wonderful place to listen good music from local Jazz bands .

Lea H

Staff is awesome and very attentive in a good way. Fills up fast get there early. Music was amazing.

Phillip Keene

Dress light, and make sure you're comfortable with gettin comfortable with lots of people because there's no such thing as personal space once the music starts playin!

Joseph Akbrud

Great, intimate jazz club on Frenchmen Street. A must see if you're in the area.

Amy Tremmel

Jazz , cheap drinks and fun! Must go while in NOLA.

Suzanne Sullivan

Great music , cold drinks...nice afternoon spot when looking for low key early music

Great music ! Casual and friendly Jazz Bar ..

Aashima Ratti

Great place for jazz . If you go early enough you can enter without cover.

Connie Chiu

Great jazz band lineup but there's only 1 bathroom for girls and gets crowded af. $5 cover and cash only .

Avradeep Chakrabarti

If you like blonde beers , go for the Abita Amber or Restoration Pale Ale . $5 per bottle.

Priya Tungrus

We got there at 6:10 on a Friday night, no cover and managed to find 2 seats. Cash only for the bar and bring your ID!

Nick Lovelady

Cash only , but there's an ATM handy. Best music and chill vibe in the French Quarter.
