Doing both the Planetarium and the Museum in one day is a little daunting ... and very tiring. Make them separate trips or go early on a weekday.

Be sure to check out the whole place - I know it sounds daunting , but it is SO worth it and my kids loved it.

The David H. Koch Dinos exhibit by far outdoes any other that I've seen! AMNH has an entire whole floor of dinos! Amazing hierarchies throughout the exhibit. They really condense a lot of information - ℳ????????♍
