Yu Garden

Fancy a glimpse of ancient China? Then come here. It dates back 400 years to Ming Dynasty. Though it's a reconstruction, it's beautifully done. Lots to see, do, & eat. Spare at least 3 hours here.

Yu Garden is one of the hot spots of the tourist trail , see the 9 corner bridge , stand in the giant queue at Nanxiang Mantou to get some Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings - and buy some Coach purses ! ????

This place lives up to its fame. Come on a weekday morning to avoid the crowds. Lovely gardens worth a stroll, though its actually more buildings than greenery . A real historic gem surrounded by shit.

Go on a sunny spring day (weekday, and never on a national holiday!) to see it at its best. On a gloomy & crowded day, it's not as beautiful. Old town area with shops is much worthy of seeing.

One of my favorite place in Shanghai! not only an incredible huge scenic garden but also the entire area, with plenty of shops, restaurants , food stalls and the foodcourt!

Even though it is a private garden , it is very large. After paying the admission fee, you will be able to see beautiful buildings and unusual garden scenes. If you go to Shanghai, be sure to visit~!

This beautiful garden is nestled into the old town section!!! The place is so expansive and can wander for hours... kind of boring, but actual sculptures and waterfalls and plants are gorgeous!!

Beautiful place,must have a look at this garden .Very crowded in the weekends,you can do souvenir shopping outside the garden.Evening this place is all lit up!

Great place to go for a piece of the old history frm Qing dynasty. Bad for strollers as the road is uneven. Took the kids and I about 3-4 hours (we took our time) to walk through. Plan on alot walking

Beautiful stunning garden . I was there during spring, definitely must visit this place if you are in Shanghai. The colour of the koi fish are so vibrant too!

Beautiful traditional Chinese gardens - you can wander here for hours. Surrounding the gardens is a bustling shopping district with lots of street food options and cafes .

Be wary of a friendly group of young Chinese usually around the metro.They will ask you to take a picture of them to start conversation and than will lure you to a tea house to pay for a performance .

Walking Street with alot of food,clothing shop around near Cheng Huang Miao (God of City Temple ).Price of course expensive .Should'n buy electric stuff in this area or maybe u will buy a fake stuff

Good size garden with lots of trees , crooked path, famous tea house and lots of souvenir shops - both government owned and not so real stuff. Just enjoy your stroll

The trick in buying stuff here is to haggle down the price to more than half, then if the vendor doesn't agree with you, start to walk away. The vendor would almost always give in to you!

Didn’t actually go into the garden itself but walked along the bazaar and that was cool enough by itself. Lots of people. Touristy .
