Ala Moana Beach Park

Its 1.75 miles of paved walkway is excellent for a leisurely stroll, and being less crowded than Waikiki Beach means you can enjoy the beach without being in anyone's way.

A man made peninsula that was built in 1964 on 30 acres of reclaimed shallow reef, it was turned into a public park in 1972. The name was changed to Aina Moana, but the locals still call it Magic Isla

Best time to go is around 10 am on the weekdays (super quiet ). Sandiest place is by the active life guard stands. You won't have to worry about stepping on any coral if you enter the water by them.

Great place to go sit and watch the sunset or just go for a dip . Usually packed, and the parking is a headache. Park at the Ala Moana Center and walk.

Good place to go jogging when you're staying in downtown Waikiki. Also good views of Diamond Head from here.

This area is officially known as Ala Moana Regional Park . The locals refer to this place as Ala Moana Beach or Ala Moana Park

One of the closer beaches near the University of Hawaii at Manoa. It features a beautiful beach , picnic grounds, tennis courts , jogging paths and grassy fields .

The Honolulu Marathon will be run on the first Sunday in December that does NOT FALL on December 7. The date mentioned is rather inauspicious being that a majority of the runners are from Japan.

Park walks is perfect to cruise with your longboard in the sunset ! Makes a nice ending to your sun bathing .

Go for a jog at Ala Moana Beach Park and then finish with a swim in the ocean! You can grill, play pick up games of ultimate, watch couples take wedding photos, surf , stand up paddle, play tennis ...

One of the best places to run around without any sort of interference other than other runners and bikers. Hit up Magic Island for a little extra mileage.

Great beach , coral reef protects from waves. So it is pretty much a swimming pool . Cool for families, boring for surfers unless ready to paddle half a mile pass the rief 

There is always a long line of cars leaving right after the sunset . Stay awhile to avoid being stuck in traffic.

It's a great location to watch the Friday night fireworks , and even better if you bring a chair.

Forgot to pack a picnic ? No worries brah, Surf and Snack is open until 4PM for Burgers , Fries , Plate Lunches , Drinks and Ice Cream . Located near the bathrooms and main parking lot .

Great for a run after work. Just don't stand on the grass for too long. There are red ants lurking!

Excellent place for beginner and kid swimmers .

The view is awesome... There's nothing like being there to catch the sunrise!

Nice place for family picnics and tanning for girls. Still water is great for kids, but its not snorkel friendly .

After your surf session, head over to Haili's Backyard Luau lunch truck .

If all you want to do is get some sun, head towards the dead middle of the drive. There's a lotta rocks in the water, so more often than not, the sand isn't packed with people.

Excellent place to swim , have a picnic , or get some exercise in. Running paths, tennis courts , and lots of open space to have fun.
