Peabody Square

This historic square at the intersection of Ashmont Street and Dorchester Avenue was named for Oliver Peabody, a 19th c. benefactor of the historic All Saints' church here. In summer there is a great farmers' market in front of the T station. Close by Ashmont Grill and Tavolo are good restaurants.

Such a cute square! Like any where else in the city , though, try to avoid it late at night.

Square was named after Colonel Oliver Peabody and his wife Mary in 1893. Peabody was the founder of Kidder, Peabody & Co.
