The wands are so cool! Some wands are interactive where you can make things happen around Harry Potter World! It doesn't matter if you're big or small, Ollivander's is definitely the place to go!
ATTENTION: Haven't seen the films or read the books ? You won't know what's going on and probably won't think it's worth it. Big fan? You already know what this is and what it's about. You'll love it.
My daughter got a wand at the Ollivander's street vender. The woman helped her pick out a wand just like in the books , she played her part well ! My daughter will treasure her Ginny's wand forever.
Shop gets crowded at noon-evening so is better if you make your selection and come here to buy your wand later. Wands are available in the stores at park entrance as well
Worth experiencing if you have children that love HP. Or, you're an adult that can appreciate good improvisational acting and some magical special effects.
I thought it was worth the wait! Like watching Harry get his wand but in person :) But man avoid the shop after you exit and just go to the cart over by the exit to Flight of the Hippogriff!
Do to the fact that this line can get up to a 2.5 hour wait, either go there first thing after the park opens or go back around 3pm. This is when the line is the shortest. You have to go here!
Very realistic from the books and movies . They have every wand and you can even choose your own wand (potter head heaven)
Great show, awesome to see the wand keeper pick adults as well as kids! Go in the fall out spring though...very low lines !
Not as magical as what's in Diagon Alley because of the layout, nor does it fit the world as well , but still fun to try. When we went, an adult was picked over children for getting a wand.
Long line .. but I do love the shop! Make SURE to buy a notebook of some sort and have the page stamped by a cast member!!
Fun show for the kids. Not worth the long line though. Start your day here when the line is short and temperature is still cool
Even though 1 person is chosen out of 20ish ppl to have the wand chose you, I say it's worth the experience to see it be acted out. Definitely wait in line for the full magical experience
Wait until later (close to park close) line goes much faster. My son was chosen and it was the his greatest memory of our trip.
Back door also has a line . But they also sell all of the same wands in front of hogwarts (the big castle thing) via a concession stand. There is usually only a 3-4 minute wait up there.
The show that occurs is interactive and enjoyable. Who knows, you might even find the right wand for you!
The place to be for every fan but the line is very long. You can buy the same wands in the shop on the corner.
I was chosen two years in a row- the secret is to stand near the center front and look like you are about to pee yourself out of excitement!
Definitely go to Durvish & Bangs instead of waiting for the line at ollivanders, if you don't want to do the wand choosing . It's much faster and they connect! :) Happy Wanding!
You get a discount if you belong to AAA!! Show them your card to receive a discount . It seems like its usually around $2 off, but $2 is $2.
There's only one option - get here first thing in the morning. If you don't, be prepared for at least an hour wait, and a struggle through one of the most poorly designed shops in all creation.
I just went to the show and ended up being chosen by ollivander for the wand. I had heard you get it at a discount if he picks you. NOT TRUE FULL RETAIL PRICE 29.95 plus tax
Prepare for a LONG wait , and a lot of standing. Be sure to always move as far forward as possible or risk being yelled at and ejected.
The queue for the experience is a fraction of the length if you go to Ollivander's in Diagon Alley .
You can avoid the wait and show, if all you want is a wand. The entrance is in the back.
My favorite wand in your shop is Luna Lovegood's. thank you for providing such great wands!!!
Definitely worth the wait in line ... One lucky child get to have his want chose them
14 3/4", ash, unicorn hair core. What beautiful wands! Thank you Cassidy for the excellent service you provided!
Get the interactive wand! It's a lot of fun!
In this case, exiting thru the giftshop IS the exhibit . Be warned the show is fairly anti-climactic and not, IMO, worth more than a 15 minute wait.
Go on your birthday and increase your chances with your button on!
The line is packed. It may take an hour, even two. It only gets longer. But hey, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Go on your birthday and increase your chances with the button!
Also, while waiting think of an important date/event in your life. Your wand is picked based off of it.
It chose me. Oak, 16", Phoenix feather.
Let the wand shop owner help you choose a wand. Usually a long wait but my kids we always remember it. Read more
The line is long and hot. No cover or fans like other attraction lines . Cover up.
There's a really cool "show" that happens here
Chilly inside, but neat little demonstration on wands.
Got in line at 4:51 on a Saturday in feb, cool breeze and shade .
I was chosen - look uber excited and it helps to wear some Harry Potter paraphernalia!! (:
If you break your wand, just come back here. Please don't try to fix it yourself.
This little show feels like you are watching a short scene from the movie in person.. Totally worth the hot.sweaty wait.
The line is for a quick show. For casual fans, probably not worth the wait. Hardcore/enthusiasts should wait.
People say it isn't worth it... But it is. DEW IT, or you cheat yourself of the full 'Arry Pottah experience.
Not worth it. You can buy wands many other places in the park . If you go here you'll wait about an hour for a five minute show and then an overcrowded gift shop .
Good for families with little kids or die hard fans. Otherwise, it's an scorching wait in the sun for a minute long show.
Dressing in costume helps to get selected for wand choosing
Skip the show and just enter the wand store via the exits. Definitely not worth the wait for the wand show
The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter . It is not always clear why to those who study wandlore...
Although it is a walk, take the normal line at least once. The detail from the books is great as you walk in. - Gavin Harper
The platter is a great deal for groups, and a really fun presentation. - Elena Haas
The train ride is more than just a train ride - you'll see! Also, the new Diagon Alley is awesome! - Noah Adams
Lots of unique items not available elsewhere. My personal favorite: a Hogwarts Parchment filled Moleskine! - Rachel Mercer
Easy to miss and crowded when Forbidden Journey lets out, but has some great merch to pick up including Marauder's Map items. - Siobhán
It’s Christmas everyday here! - Marques Robinson
Make sure to get a Butterbeer. My favorite was the regular kind. Make sure to get some Pumpkin Juice too. - John Woodring
