This Shake Shack integrates really nicely with the Union Station transit hub. Large seating area upstairs with a view of all the travelers below. Shake Shack does great smashed burger patties.
Get the Chick'n Shack sandwich . It's honestly better than Chick-fil-A, and you can rest assured knowing the profits from your purchase won't end up funding some homophobic organization or politician!
Open for breakfast . Turned out to be an excellent takeout option for the train ride. Couldn't leave D.C. without getting the Washington Monu-mint!
Perfect classic American griddle burger . Good burger , crispy fries , and great shakes . What's not to like?
If it’s busy, grab a table upstairs (it’s way more spacious than you’d imagine it to be) and order your food on the shake shack app. Skip the line .
The food is great as always. The customer service was also awesome! The restaurant fit perfectly into the environment of Union Station.
Slowly becoming my favorite because of the upstairs. Let's you leave the hustle & bustle.
The Smoke Shack on gluten free bun is really good. Ordering and eating at lunch was quite easy before a train out.
Great place! My family and I are visiting DC on a very low budget. If that's you? Be aware, everything I sold separately.
Shaaaake Shack. First place to go in DC. Smoke Stack and Abita Root Beer never goes wrong.
Lots of seating upstairs, including napkins, condiments, etc.
Love it. My first stop for lunch when I arrived in DC.
Burgers , fries & shakes , although I wish the latter had a lactose-free option.
Best place to eat before take the train ! Not so crowded as NYC places!
Burger is great, but the chicken sandwich is better
Occasionally slow and inept service. Tasty unhealthy food option, tho!
Chicken sandwich is surprisingly delicious and perfect
First floor condiments bar gets crowded ...don't worry there is a second station upstairs
Great Burger and plenty of seating upstairs.
Try the Shack-cago Dog! It is delicious!
"Slow and inept," as someone else put it, perfectly describes this location. Apparently it's notorious locally for poor, apathetic service and was a terrible choice for a first Shake Shack visit.
Open early and latest in Union Station!
SmokeShack puts hair on your chest and goodness in your belly.
Shack stack is the best order.
Best.Burger.Ever. Shakes are good too!
Burgers ! And of course shakes
Stop thinking about it, just go for chocolate .
Amazing beer and fries !!
Very good burger !!!
Avoid bums panhandling while waiting for your order, get the manager to deal with the unsightly scene
French fries goog
Great fries !
Terrible long line . But possibly worth the wait, especially before a ride on the marc train
I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers .
French fries good
Cheesy fries
Strawberry shake !!
Concretes!!!
The most seating of any Shake Shack in the city but the worst service.
It was good, but not worth the premium price. Definitely better value elsewhere.
El Egg&Cheese para desayunar está deli!
Batata frita com queijo é sensacional!!!
Не так вкусно, как хотелось бы. Shroom Burger плохо жуется, кляр горчит.
Las papas son la onda
Fritas incríveis!

Get here early...the lines can be long. Usually there's time for a Starbucks run. - Eric Lewis
Really fast service i liked it made it easy for me to eat. - Anthony Salas
Amazing burger. Fun take on beer buying. Definitely a recommend. - Christopher Westcott
Veggie sandwich: surprisingly good! I love that they use fresh, crispy jalapenos. - Josiah Lambert
Get one of each type of dipping sauce, the mango is surprisingly really good. Also gotta get the burger with a fried egg. - MK McKenzie
It's safe to say we never realized how important the Postal Service was until we learned of its extensive history here. Great exhibits and tons of knowledge. - Insider Perks
