Pretty large screen and yes, you can buy beer beforehand. It would be nice if they did more mainstream movies !
The IMAX experience was fun. You can buy tickets online and pickup at the box office . Cue up early for special events to get a good seat.
All Smithsonian Theaters offer a discount to see an additional show; if you see any show at any Smithsonian Theater, any other show is $6; you can get this discount for 7 days from the first show!
Saw Hidden Space here and it is a good theater. Nice, comfortable seats and a giant screen.
It's an IMAX theater in the National Air and Space Museum . Go see space.. in 3D!! Hubble 3D specifically if it's still playing.
There where more documentary 's than movies but a good and cleaver explanation!
For big movies , you will need to arrive at least 1/2-hour early.
Best iMax movie ever. FAR OUT! ( a compliment from a '70's college student
Cheap concessions!
Crowd / line management for the bigger shows (like Star Wars) can be a confusing mess.
Hubble 3D was an excellent show to watch! Wisecracking Mike Massimino is a hoot!
Every movie is great at the IMAX!!!
Amazing features!
This place is poorly managed
If you choose to try a Ride Simulator, you can choose from SpaceWalk, Cosmic Coaster, F-18 Experience and/or Wings simulations. TOTALLY go with Cosmic Coaster! - Joel Valdez
If u have to choose either this or the IMAX shows, no doubt this should be it. Free educational screening on stars and planets on selected mornings at 10.30am. Totally worth the ticket price. Amazing! - Ting
Really cool movie theater! There’s a bar in front, and their popcorn is amazing. - Amy Cummings
Definitely get there early. I like to grab a beer before the snow with my friends. It's a great looking theater with comfy seats and a good location. - Molly Cushing
Smaller single screen movie theatre within the Nat'l History Museum. Great sound system, but the seating is untiered so sight lines can be obstructed if someone tall sits in front. Sit near the back. - Matthew Guderian
This was probably one of the best museums I've visited. It is for all ages and the admission is free! I can recommend going here especially if you are into planes, like me :) - Camilla
