Public Square

The center of the Bioregion, laid out in 1796 as a ten-acre green similar to New England commons. Restored 2016; features water park/skating rink, concert stage and restaurant .

Mini water park LOL, fountain squirts from the ground and lots of kids running around... otherwise, it seems like a nice green space downtown with lots of seating to hang out and people watch

This is now a usable space. Lots of seating , a water feature, traffic is limited to buses only on Superior, and a cafe is coming soon.

Welcome to Public Square! The first electric street light in America stood here. Look for the iron-wrought ivy leading up to a street light, along the side of The Key Center building.

Here one can see a statue of Moses Cleaveland . Note the extra "a" between "e" & "v". The city 's name was actually spelled that way fo quite some time.

Although “The Avengers ” won’t hit theaters until 2012, Public Square has been a shooting location for the movie starring Chris Evans (Captain America ) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).

Filling the role of a Stutgart square, Public Square was used in Avengers Assemble (2012) for the scene where all-but-one of a crowd kneels before Loki before Cpt America and Iron Man turn up.

Even after working downtown for 30 years, I will never tire of this view . Just lovely.

11am weekdays 100's of students roam public square with nowhere to be. The swat and anti-gang armored vehicles stand by with water cannons once the riots start.

The renovation of the square will kill it. Any city across America that has ever done that to their downtown square has regretted it. Leave the square as is.

I just don't get it. After the transformation takes place, who is going to pay to park just to get some green space and a place to sit? Make sense to you?
