The battle scene sculptures of the Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Monument are monumental but it’s the thousands of carved names inside that bring home the real agony of Civil War . It's free to visit.
Look for the two African-American figures among the sculptures : Outside, a sailor from the integrated U.S. Navy of the 1860s loads a cannon. Inside, a former slave rises as Lincoln liberates him.
An awe inspiring place everyone in Cleveland should visit at least once; and hey, its free.
The interior of the 116 year old monument has just been restored so go inside to see original coloration and features.
Nearby Public Square renovations are beautiful!

Sometimes the HealthLine waits to go on a timed schedule. Watch for the E-line Trolley which stops in front of the Higbee Bldg...can be quicker to take the trolley than wait for the HeathLine - Josh Taylor
It’s better to see it at night. It’s one of the best places in Cleveland. I heard this Chandelier is the largest outdoor chandelier in the world ???? - Mohammed ????????
