They have the best carnitas in San Diego! Their homemade tortillas are bomb and they are big so the wait moves quick! Also have 3$ margs on Taco Tuesday !
Every single thing brought to our table was amazing (see "after" photo). Went back for take-out lunch the next day on the way to the airport . I'm spoiled for the rest of my life because of OTMC.
First time here, great food better atmosphere. . The service and waitress was great. And to top off the lunch . ..strawberry Margarita/Mango, thank you for a great time. ..
Best carnitas in the city , which puts them in the running for best carnitas in the country . Get them crispy with flour tortillas (they’re made in house). Thank me later.
My favorite breakfast spot in town . The best huevos rancheros I've had, delicious carnitas (get crispy ), good pozole and machaca con huevos . Nopales casserole too.
The food, margarita and the service was above above average. The best part, the home-made corn-shell tortillas . Those tortillas are very tasty and filling so try not to over eat or over order.
I moved here 32 years ago and Old Town Mex was the first place I ate Mexican food in San Diego. It's tradition and I take everyone here.
Agree with everyone else...margaritas are terrible. Crispy Carnitas platter is amazing. Homemade tortillas are the best I've ever had. Loved the churros .
Corn tortillas are hand made fresh and different than in any other place. Tasty! Try the posole rojo is cheap and really good!
THE FOOD HERE IS FLY ACROSS THE COUNTRY GOOD. I WEPT STARTING WITH THE RICE AND BEANS BUT THEN THE CHICKEN CHIMI — I still need a moment
Been eating here for years. One of our favorite sit down mexican food spots in SD. Great food and very reasonable prices.
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in SD! Love their OTMC queso , enchiladas , carne asada & fish tacos & also the margaritas . Horchata & handmade tortillas are a must with your meal!
Awesome fresh, hand-made tortillas . I had the half-and-half chile verde & chile colorado, which I will definitely get again.
Check out the ladies in the front rolling fresh corn tortillas ! Order some as an appetizer (spread butter, roll into a taquito then dip in the tomato sauce !)
Great Cadillac Margaritas that the bartender said so high in alcohol keep away from open flames, true that!
we got carnitas for two and it was AMAZING. the tortillas are hella fresh, and it was more than enough food for two of us.
Popular place. waited 30min to be seated. We ordered carnitas , chicken mole , and TEQUILA RIBS. first 2 were ok, but ribs where AMAZING! falling of the bone, tender... will fly back to SD for them!
Tortilla ladies are my favorite part of Old Town ! Love this spot and always have.
Favorite Mexican Restaurant anywhere. The Chicken Chimi is excellent...packed with chicken and delicious!
The red and green chile along with the carnitas are amazing! Worth the wait.
Super breakfast service! And they serve Organic Tequila Cocktails !
Good service , but very obviously a tourist hotspot. Anyway...Ceviche good! Fresh, handmade tortillas good! Old Town "special" carnitas - below average.
Best Mexican food ever!!! Come here whenever we are in San Diego!
Good Drinks & Food! But watch out for crazies in the parking lot(including myself!) Almost had to intervine and pop some old guy in the lot! Lol!
Vegetarian options ! They use a separate fryer for veggie dishes .
Long known for it's vibrant bar scene, the food has slipped markedly over the past ten years. They have 'gringo-ized' the food to appeal to the touristas that come to Old Town State Park .
Very busy but for good reason. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had.
Mocajete for 2 was absolutely wonderful and very reasonably priced!
One of the best Mexican Restaurants in old town but always busy. Be ready for a little wait~
Pancake breakfast is oh do good with eggs and bacon ... Excellent service(Yamileth) will surely come back here
Love the home made tortillas , margaritas , mole , and chicken fajitas .
While the food's the star here don't neglect their fairly stellar selection of tequila and mezcal .
Sit at the bar all those guys are awesome.Keeth very nice polite.Jeff hes from philli need I say more.Kevin upbeat guy from east county . Joe mellow beach dude. Billy pretty boy but cool.
The food is soooo yummy!! And you can't beat the Homemade Tortillas , they are deeeelicious!!! Yummmm.....
Taco and Enchilada . You can’t resist the homemade flour tortillas .
Come here for brunch and don't leave w/o picking up a dozen of their homemade tortillas !
Great food and great service
Huge portions ! Unless you have a monster appetite, you should plan on sharing or taking home left-overs!
Food and hospitality from the owner was amazing. Get the spinach enchilada .
Awesome food and awesome family.
Great carnitas , tortillas , and $4 house margaritas for happy hour .
Cheese enchiladas are super rich but really f'n good!
Amazing hand made tortillas . Wish I had checked out part of the city sooner
So far the best menudo in San Diego! Perfect if you have a hangover! :)
must try the pozole ! best in Old Town . If u don't know what Pozole is, you're in for a real treat. soup that equates to a major meal and packed with flavor...
