This hole in the wall japanese joint serves excellent food with great service from its staffs & has a very cosy interior. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
Foie gras aglio oglio ($32). Self-indulgent dish. Complex flavours— ramen is fried with chilli flakes , seared foie gras is predictably nutty, & slices of smoked duck added more fat & texture ????????
TFS chirashi bowl . sashimi perhaps not as fresh & tasty as expected but still a decent combi & satisfying dish. stuffed eggplant gratin was the winner, as was the tiger prawns with rice .
Soft-shell crab tempura with truffle mayo ($19). This portion (under “Entrees-Small Bites” is different from the $35 one under “Dinner-Large Sharing Platters”. So tasty you can’t stop at one bite ????
The sushi is so good it makes up for the considerable wait & price. The Chirashi is delectable, the Tiger Prawns are rich and delicious, and the Signature Maki is a row of surprising & yummy morsels.
Really generous portions for what you pay, especially if you go for their bentos . The chirashi bowl is excellent and also very generous. Wonderful and extremely attentive service too! Lovely place.
Modern Japanese. I really like the miso glazed Chilean sea bass . But I like the Summer Chirashi Bento , with decent price points. The ambience has a New York style hole in the wall vibe.
Unagi chirashi ($25) was both a visual & gustatory feast. Found under the “Sushi Bar - Chirashi Bowls ” menu, the kitchen put in effort to dress up an otherwise boring unagi bowl
Cosy little Japanese restaurant that is within a small lane, away from the main Amoy Street. HIDDEN GEM .
Salmon & ikura don ($28). For dinner , u r not limited to just the “Dinner ” menu. Check out “Entrees”, and even chirashi bowls from their “Sushi Bar ” menu
Love it when a hole-in-a-wall discovery exceeds expectations & serves really gr8-tasting food. Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch (chef 's special bento )!
Garlic butter clam udon ($23). Substantial, creamy plate. Generous serving of clams . Nice crunch with chopped asparagus
Best sushi I've had in Singapore. The staff is very nice, they remembered my order as soon as I walked in on my second time here. Not cheap , but totally worth it!
The portion of the TFS Chirashi wasn't as big as I expected. But the signature maki is a nice mix of everything- spicy salmon , crab stick , ikura , scallop and sweet shrimp .
Truffled organic ribeye steak ($45 for 200g). Sweet juicy flavours. Contrasted well with the grilled veges
The signature chirashi bowl has enough ingredients to consider it a celebratory dish. Service is always personable and efficient. Love this place. California maki are gigantic, five in a plate.
Fantastic hole in the wall Japanese restaurant . Love the vibe and feel of the place. Order the pumpkin croquette and the truffled ebi fry. Won't be disappointed!
Tiny little spot down a "this can't be Singapore" alley. Seafood salad , sushi , grilled fugu , and miso gindara were all good! Good pacing of food and attentive staff
The charashi bowl is really good. Cost $25, and I feel that the price is reasonable because of the amount of ingredients it has.
Overall verdict, nice n cosy interior, great svc, sashimi is fresh, chef 's surprise looks good. Sashimi salad can be better. Love the #fortetea bags used here! #thomtorieats
Pretty green tea : Look how high-class their green tea bag looks like! Found out the brand is Tea Forte, a gourmet tea provider
My daily chef 's special bento @ $30 is not that special. Just my luck? The chirashi bento and sushi bento looks better. Will order that next time.
Fantastic! Must tries include the signature maki - one of the best I've had, crab and Avocado salad . Go for the black asahi . Fantastic!!
The TFS chirasi bowl left lasting impression because of the rice . Ikura and salmon bits in the rice added great touch to the taste.
This stuff on the spoon is awesome! Very pleased with the tiger prawns but the portions & service disappoint
Signature TFS Chirashi . It's different from the usual daily lunch bento Chirashi set on their menu.
Love the Chirashi don, special maki and Ebi fry!
Amazing sushi place. Try the egg and the belly of torro and salmon
Hot sake , salmon belly , California rolls , maki , sashimi , nice staff ... This place has it all!
cosy hole in the wall rest. a wee bit squeeze but that's it's charm. food is decent but not to die for. good but not great. what stood out for me was the cold half poached egg with roe and seaweed .
The spicy tuna roll , chicken Karaage , tuna roll , and gyoza .
TFS oysters (6 for $36) were big, fresh & succulent. Yummy !
The Bloody Mary comes in a small tumbler but gosh does it pack a punch. Spicy , full of flavour and a generous portion of alkie...
Sushi set is great. Unagi don is great. Solid lunch place.
•7.5/10 •Pumpkin korokke •OK chirashi •Cute Japanese brunch place
Best restaurant find in a while. Try the fugu !
Grilled fugu is really good. Taste a little like ba kwa though.
Reservation is a must. It's a very tiny restaurant . Sushi was good. Quite good value for money .
Black Asahi is available all along the streets of Telok Ayer and Amoy, if you happen to pay any attention. I rather drink the black at Hinode, or even at Naked Coffee . Bttr service less the attitude
TFS Chirashi is yummy & good value .
Hole-in-the-wall Japanese eatery . Great lunch bentos !
They have creative cocktails , pretty cool.
The crunchy unagi maki is delicious!
Lunch was a little expensive in comparison to other places in the CBD. The interior decor is quite good though
The cocktails here are so-so. Not spectacular, but there's sparkling sake available, interesting find.
Chiraishi bento is good. Service is really slow during weekday lunch time though, so don't expect a quick meal here.
Eclectic objects in the dark
Love the Umeichizu Plum Wine & coffee here.
The freshness of the sashimi can be a hit or miss.
My favorite place in this neighborhood !
Excellent set lunch and fresh charabashi. Unlimited side dishes in Thursdays. Drool worthy and do go early to queue as there are limited space. - Morwens
Great view! Must try the Wagyu foie gras donburi. - Michelle Evangeline
Good place for premium beef lover with Omakase or A la carte. There are Wagyu, Kobe, Miyazaki or other imported Japanese beef. Quality of beef is delicious and almost similar to Japan.Booking required - Foodtraveler_theworld
Cocktails and service are PERFECT! The corpse reviver is actually worth dying for. - Ashley Dando
Portion is gigantic! Love the granola and almond milk, banana, berries smoothie (vegan!) The fry up breakfast is good too and latte is really nice! Thumbs up guys! - Sher Sah
The miso cod main course and the sides (salad and roasted pumpkin), and the Poutine are excellent. Trust. - Fiona
