Cincinnati Art Museum

When founded in 1881, it was the first purpose-built art museum west of the Alleghenies. This building was initially completed in 1886. From the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County .

There are some very lovely full-room exhibits/pieces here at the CAM. Like, you walk in the room & the whole room is a piece. I've never seen anything like it at other Art Museums -- really neat.

Very nice place to visit but with they had more ancient (I mean like super old) art pieces they have a lot of European art and try the layered strawberry shortcake in the cafe AMAZING!!!!

Such a variety of pieces from paintings to furniture and even ancient Egyptian artifacts . With free admission , there's no reason not to spend an afternoon here!

American Folk Art special exhibit , Tiffany exhibit . Wonderful cafe ... and most of the museum is free entry ... except for special exhibits which are $10 & $5. Lovely setting!

The Cincinnati Art Museum is a lovely, mid-sized museum with a good variety of artworks. You can easily go through the museum in an afternoon.

Definetly should check out the 30 Americans exhibit . The grilled cheese in the cafe is also super yummy!

Great Kid Friendly / Family Friendly Art Museum . Lots of interactive exhibits and Friendly Staff .

Instead of the $4 lot on the right, turn into the free lot on the left and walk to the entrance. This makes your visit free.

This place is free, full of amazing art work, and usually has world famous exhibit showing.

The grounds outside are just a beautiful as the architecture on the inside. Not to mention outstanding exhibits .

Look for the 16th century bench you can sit on!

Awesome exhibit on Art Deco fashion. Try to tag along on a docent tour . The woman who restored all the beadwork is really knowledgeable .

Free admission ! Art After Dark is a fun event . Good place for a date.

Good mix of artwork and the area surrounding the museum is picturesque.

Everyone should visit here at least once :)

The Tom Wesselamann gallery is pretty neat, especially since much of it is 3D!

Nice mix of exhibits in a manageable size museum .

The Museum Shop is fab! It's the place to find that gift for the hard to shop for person.

If you're looking for a wedding reception venue, the Art Musuem was a beautiful setting for a friend's place.

Go to the Cincinnati Art Museum. The Terrace Cafe 's tomato soup is awesome on a cold winter day .

Follow them on Twitter for special events . I took my son there and he did a scavenger hunt for a prize at the end.
