The Colonial Cafe recreates the atmosphere of the halcyon days of the planters of Malaya and offers authentic classical cuisine from the colonial era. Plush red leather chairs, crisply starched white tablecloths and timber paneling reinforce the colonial feel.

Set amidst cosy colonial ambience, you can dine on dishes of an era bygone. Try the Hainanese Chicken Rice Balls , Inche Kabin, Mulligatawny Soup , and English Trifle. There's a jazz band at night too!
Came for tea instead because orchid conservatory does not accept children under 12yrs. Delicious; quiche ,fried chicken , & cream pudding with blackberry & raspberry . Others are okay. Rm60nett/pax
Great pianist they've got here, it was enjoyable during our afternoon tea . Go for 1 pax if u come in 2 and go for 2 pax if you come in a group of 3. RM10 for the parking . -Penang Kia Food Critique-
The high tea was great. Came to RM60 for myself. The piano playing was great.
Nice place to chill .. denoting a predominantly neo classical style of architecture while enjoying ur scrumptious meal and lovely ambience..
Great ambiance and food was nice. Considering the prestige of the place, I did expect better from the napkins (mine had holes in it) and the teapot (the cover & pot did not match).
Loving their high tea . The foods are delicious and the prices for high tea is fairly cheap compared to other hotels
Food quality is good, customer service is excellent. Just price a bit above average .
The place is fantastic!

The famous chicken rice , quality is just above average . Costly for paying great ambience.

Good pianist though
They do not serve breakfast . Only lunch starting from 11:30am
The hainanese chicken chop was just average .
You basically pay for the ambience. Dinner was not worth it. You can get better food at hawker stalls.
Service is not bad

Expensive but thoroughly enjoyed the little sweet and savoury pastries. The chef gave 2 complimentary pastries when we went. Unlimited tea/coffee refills. Friendly, prompt service. Classy environment - Selene Ng
It can get quite cold when it's raining outside. I enjoyed the ambiance, that's what you're paying for - Adam Johnston
