Chez Maman is a neighborhood restaurant with a bistro concept. Our goal is to satisfy patrons at any time of the day or evening from a casual salad or burger for lunch, a mid-afternoon sweet crepe to a three course meal with a great bottle of French wine when you just don't feel like cooking.

Everything was super delicious, from the tartare to the salted smoked salmon crepes , to the sweet nutella and banana crepes dessert ! Red wine was awesome and the staff is very friendly ! Loved it
Everything! pleasure to watch men work as a ensemble - the burgers are gourmet and you can have them with Brie or goat cheese , beef tartar , clams . Wonderful place - no big companies - place is small
All the French classics, all perfectly executed. Go for a "16" (1664 Kronenbourg) draft beer with some snails and œufs cocottes and be happy.
This homey , country French bistro is among the best places in town for crępes , classic steak frites , and mussels in sauce, but the burgers are the real attraction . Read more
The croques are underrated - especially the smoked salmon croque mademoiselle. On weekends try the œufs en cocotte. The burger really is the best in town . Ask for bacon in the Mac and Cheese .
Really nice and authentic restaurant , a lot of French people go there. Mussels were excellent, the lamb skewers were great too.
Such a easy lunch or dinner choice. The owner is extremely welcoming and really gets to know the regulars who come in. Thanks Chez Maman for being apart of Potrero Hill .
While their burgers are all excellent, I like to order slightly off-menu: ask the waiter if they can do a veggie burger to get one that's stuffed with their house ratatouille .
I'll always love the old little Chez Maman more... but honestly really solid French place. The nicest waiters , great wine list , delicious Niçoise salad !
I love garlic , I love cheese , I love butter! Cozy+charming French resto. Try their baked camembert w/ roasted garlic and toast points. Be bold and nom on Escargot parsley , butter-shallots & white wine
Onion soup , beef tartare , Thai mussels were absolutely outstanding. However, my daughter said that savoyarde crepe needed more flavor or spice.
One of my favorite lunch spots . Nicoise salad , crepe complete or salmon crepe , moules mariniere, and their house burger are all excellent.
The French onion soup is a must. Croque madame & monsieur are fantastic. Go for the paninis if you want something on the light side.
After trying a few things, I will now only order between those two dishes: the flat iron steak or Les Moules Provençales, always with fries , for sure!
Unpretentious and surprisingly neighborhoody French bistro atmosphere. Soup and crêpes are delish!
Food blogger Jaymee of E is for Eat recommends Chez Maman. "Try traditional dishes , like baked Camembert and stuffed crêpes , or go big with a burger topped with Brie and a fried egg ."
My first time having escargot was here. Served in this amazing butter and wine sauce . Could have eaten the whole plate by myself.
My favorite burger in SF. Many are fans of the burger with cheese , but it's sufficiently well seasoned to enjoy unadorned as well .
This place is amazing. Small and intimate . Seats maybe 15. Food is amazing. Staff is top notch. Really good food!
This seems to be the neighborhood gathering spot for French ex-pats. The food and service are amazing
The place is small, seems like it fits 15 people so go early (5:30pm)! Best grilled salmon I've ever had and the mussels were good too!
Feels like an authentic Parisian bistro , especially if you sit outside
The panini , beef tartare and the duck confit are pretty good. The mussels are okay. Also very affordable prices .
Not had anything here I did not love. French bistro with many options. Try the croque options or the mains.
Worth the wait to grab seats at the counter. Delicious burgers , and the perfect little Potrero afternoon spot.
I had a burger with roquefort and bacon . Washed it down with Champagne . They say everything tastes fabulous with Champagne ... so it does. so it does.
Everyone says to get the burger . They're not wrong, but when you're done doing that, get the pain perdu . It's so crazy good..
A very quaint and small place in Potrero. The food is simple but amazing. Service has personality and flair. If you ever fancy getting out of the city without leaving the city limits. This is it!
The burger is definitely the bomb. Get it with blue cheese and die happy.
The mushroom crepe is the best thing on the menu. Trust me
The very PICTURE of the neighborhood boîte… and what’s view from their preserved parklet!
Love the place. But the crepe I had today was blah... Had cheese , potatoes , cornichons , prosciutto - but still was tasteless
The chocolate mousse is delicious and the champagne is good and affordable
Do yourself a favor and get the Cinnamon Pain Perdu ????
Burgers , pork chop , desserts , wine ... Everything is delicious.
Get the Poulette Moules , Nicoise Salad , also the Burgers are amazing.
The salted caramel with almonds , is so good!
Today I watched Jocelyn Bulow, owner of Chez Maman, storm into the kitchen and physically and verbally attack one of the restaurants chefs . Dozens watched the fight spill onto the sidewalk. Pathetic!
Flat Iron steak with fries for dinner . Mushrooms crepe for brunch . You are welcome.
Nice atmosphere and good. Get a crepe - they are whole wheat , which as unexpected.
great spot for brunch , very relaxed atmosphere . sitting at the counter is highly recommended
The counter is sadly gone, at least in it's cramped, intimate iteration, but the burger and it's reasonable price lives on!
Grab a burger or brunch . Not a bad thing on the menu! Seating is limited.
The chocolate mousse is awesome and the $8 Champagne glass is really good for that kind of price
if you're looking to indulge, go with the carbonara . insanely rich and tasty!
Burger with Brie & mussels - can't go wrong! But don't get the creme brul é..
One of my favorite places for fries
As much as folks rave about their burger ... It's all about les moules poulette et frites .
They serve up a great burger but the fries are so good!
Get the burger . Blue cheese of course! The bun was really good too and deserved its own recognition. www.grubcrawl.com
Excellent French selection. I always have to start with their onion soup. Tres bien - Dom
Coq au vin is amazing. Make sure you ask for extra bread! - Gustavo Perez
Great place to spend time working with a latte and a pastry. Outlets, wifi, comfy seats -- what more could you ask for? - Seth Bannon
Lovely little store in a lovely little neighborhood. Owner is friendly and makes great recommendations. - Jess L
