With its dim lighting , modern rustic aesthetic, and expensive wine list , Barbuzzo is a romantic date spot . Be sure to order dessert — the salted caramel budino is divine. Read more
One of the best meals I've had. The short rib pizza , arancini , and basil lemonade were fantastic. Also the pastas are fresh and made in house. And the budino cannot be missed
Restaurant week menu was well curated & portioned. Excellent food but space is over utilised and cramped. Homemade cheese is highly recommended as an appetiser & the tiramisu is excellent for dessert .
The "it" restaurant of 2011: the pastas & pizzas are fantastic, as well as the famous salted caramel budino dessert . Also great cocktails and wine selection . [Eater 38 Member] Read more
The meatball is insane! Fusilli pasta is great and bigger than you think. For two people you're good with 4 items so you can save room for dessert . Split some quartinos so you can try a few wines .
We came here for a private event and the food was phenomenal! Beautiful decor, friendly staff . What more could you want? Definitely order the risotto balls and the salted caramel dessert !
This is a really delicious, cozy spot for a date or other special occasion . It's also a great place to take your Jewish mom who doesn't believe anything in Philly could POSSIBLY compare to New York.
One of my favorite restaurants in Philly. Can't go wrong with any of the pizzas and pastas , MUST try the caramel budino for dessert - I haven't met anyone who's tried it and not loved it.
Known for their Salted Caramel Budino dessert (with dark chocolate crust, vanilla bean caramel & sea salt ) and featuring an "After Hours Happy Hour " starting at 10:30 pm with drink/food specials.
Stumbled upon this place & it turned out to be so great! Shared the Fennel , Avocado , & Grapefruit salad ; Whole Wheat Casserecce; Grilled Skirt Steak , everything was delish & it was a very cool vibe.
Food is fantastic, but service is so subpar. Our waiter was kind and helpful, but the server was so apathetic that we felt unwelcome. I recommend the beet salad , and all of the brunch specials .
But above all, the salted caramel Budino with so much demand, chef Marcie Turney figured out how to sell it online in a six-pack and turn it into ice cream pops in the summer—is heavenly. Read more
The pasta is so fresh. And the brown butter and sage is fantastic.
Barbuzzo is one of my favorite date spots in the city . Prices are affordable and the food is fantastic. The zucchini starter and Pera pizza are amazing
Loved loved loved this place from the food to the service. Everything we had was delicious. Main highlights include the pear pizza , baked feta , burrata and budino dessert .
I will be coming back for the budino. Caramel pudding--topped with creme fraiche--with dark chocolate cookie-like crust at the bottom. Super-sweetness cut with salty, tart , and bitter.
Food is out of this world and the chefs are amazing to watch. They seem so quick and flippant with the prep and these miracles of cuisine somehow come out of it. Don't skip the pizzas .
All of the pizzas . Definitely the Burrata with pears and prosciutto . Also try the victory headwater draft .
Hangar Steak . Solid! The meatballs ; however, might be the most unique. More like Italian Sausage than a meatball . Delicious all around!
A luminescent backdrop for Marcie Turney’s Mediterranean cooking: pasta with oven-roasted mushrooms and arugula , shot through with preserved lemon and walnut pesto under a dollop of soft ricotta .
More than a year after its opening, the demand for seats at Barbuzzo is so high, you'll need to book in advance. Incredible Mediterranean fare, but the salted caramel budino is what you really want.
Sit outside if you can. The bone marrow is magnificently prepared with a light olive oil . Try at least two desserts (salted caramel budino and something else).
The salted caramel budino is shockingly good. Just insane. Everything else is tasty, too, but I would eat this dessert every night if I could.
This Mediterranean tapas style spot features elegant ambiance and incredible dishes. The sheep’s milk ricotta is a gem. Save room for the salted caramel budino for dessert .
One of my best meals in the US. The peach crostata, meatballs and the salty caramels desert was all highlights of a generally AMAZING meal!
Order the grilled octopus & roasted artichoke toast
This place knows dessert ! Before you order dinner , you should plan to leave room for the chocolate tasting plate and the insanely good Salted Caramel Budino.
Another great chance to eat Chef/Owner Marcie Turney's mouthwatering dishes - this time with flavors from the Mediterranean – and one of the few spots in Philly open late night .
Going to say it: the budino is overrated but the plate of Mediterranean antipasti and the ricotta make a perfect lunch !
Can't get a table for dinner ? Try lunch . We got there at 12:05 and were seated even though we didn't have a reservation . Can't make it the second it opens? Make a reservation .
Mediterranean/Italian place that is on the smaller side. Can get really loud if you are sitting at the tables behind the bar . Good for KOL lunches or dinners .
Chef Marcie Turney and her partner Valerie Safran run three restaurants on the same block of 13th Street. Barbuzzo, their Italian bistro , features creative twists on Mediterranean classics.
Plan on having small plates and sharing. That way you can taste more things. We shared four different dishes. Everything was delicious!
Chef 's bar is awesome for walk ins. Shrimp , bone marrow & pork cheek pasta wonderful.
Don't miss the Burrata with Roasted Carrots , Uovo Pizza , or the Salted Caramel Budino (rated best dessert in Philly)!
Excellent choice! This Mediterranean bar and restaurant simply does not disappoint. A must-taste: the famous salted caramel budino for dessert .
Great service. Great salads . The octopus entree was excellent.
The gnocchi is as good as the tips say. The right amount of truffle flavor without being too rich and the gnocchi is fluffy as air. Incredible!
Any pizza at Midtown Mediterranean wine bar Barbuzzo can be upgraded with La Quercia prosciutto for the bargain price of $4. Read more
Didn't get to try their bone marrow , but their meatballs are delicious and the salted caramel pudding is amazing
The gnocchi and budino really are excellent. Also the chianti soaked plums was a really light and fresh dessert
Awesome place. A bit small but great service, ambiance and food. Probably the best pizza (Pera) I have ever had!! ELITE!
Unbelievable food! Truly impressive. Highlights (though you can't go wrong): ricotta salad and vanilla budino. Out of this world.
Perfect date-night spot; intimate atmosphere and shared plates!
The white truffle pizza and the shared Mezze plate was delicious and plenty of food!
Everything they say about this place is true -- soooo good. Packed by 5:30 on a Saturday night, we ate st the bar . Still great. Caramel dessert is fantastic.
I ❤️ 4square recommendations! The uovo pizza , the meatballs , and the salted caramel budino were all awesome

Service started attentive and prompt, but dropped off suddenly and sharply about 2/3 thru our meal. Shared about a dozen dishes, most of which were quite tasty.
Delicious food. I wanted to eat everything on the menu. Will definitely be back! ????
Chicken shwarma or schnitzel platter...literally can't go wrong. If you're ordering to-go, make sure you ask for the tahini hot sauce on the side! - Lucy
The Spicy Chicken Kabob and Harissa Hot sauce are amazing! - Artina Sheikh
Top your bowl with EVERYTHING! No, seriously, you can’t go wrong. Greens Grains bowl with protein and all the fixings = ???????? - Nae S
Get the Indian Red Lopez guacamole and the blood orange margarita. I really wish they would bring the surf and turf tacos and the short ribs to the dinner menu- they got rid of my 2 favorite entrees. - C F
Get the McGillin's Ale. The tomato spinach soup is great and you can't go wrong with the cheesesteak. - Angie Purcell
