Head to the right at the beginning of the trail if you want less of a challenge on the front end of the hike . Head to the left for a steeper hike , but quicker ocean view payoff.
Best hiking trail in la . It's a great work out with steep hills it burns so good. Watch that photo enforced stop sign or you will get a $100 ticket and see yourself on video :) great views amazing!!
hike up to skull rock ; careful climbing up it – you can sit in the shade up top to rest before you turn back down.
I like coming during the week, when it is less crowded . Gorgeous views throughout whole hike ! I do the full loop which is 4.5 miles!
start with the trail on the east side so you come downhill on the part of the trail with the 300 degree views of the city !
An awesome aerobic workout! The climb to the top is difficult but not impossible. And what a view !!!!
Favorite hiking place. I wish people would follow the signs and stop bringing dogs on the trails .

No dogs allowed on the trails . Also, there's a stop sign camera in the parking lot so among other things, make sure you smile!
Save yourself the $7 fee for the parking lot . Free street parking is readily available.
Try going up at sunrise - the view is incredible and no one is ever there.

More crowded than I would like during the covid 19 times, even on a weekend. But still a gorgeous and thorough hike. Note that the falls are only a trickle at this time a year. - annie ????
