From 5 to 7 every day $21.50 gets you miso soup , a salad , 4 appetizers , 4 skewers , a sushi roll , 3 nigiri pieces, a scoop of ice cream , and hot tea . One of the best deals in the East Village .
My new go-to sushi spot . The fish is so fresh and for the price, it's unbelievable. The sea urchin hand roll , baby yellowtail , and salmon are all to die for. Also, jack is the man!!
their chirashi is especially fresh and excellent. salmon , mackerel , and fluke are usually the best quality. best sushi for value and quality in the EV.
This place has fantastic food for good prices! Skewer variety + sushi sashimi combo for two + single unagi roll each was perfect for two. Most of all amazing vibes- the staff is great
Sushi and sashimi combo for two is a great deal at $48 and you will leave full and happy. Still my favorite sushi spot in the hood.
Best sushi in the area. No reservations so come early or be happy to wait. Great sashimi dinner and plenty of sake options without the obnoxious crowd. Don't miss the beautiful artwork!
We had the 007 roll and the samurai roll - both were great. The shrimp tempura appetizer was more like deep fried shrimp , and I think the entree was more of a traditional tempura . Wish we got that!
My go-to sushi spot in the East Village . Sit at the sushi bar and chat with Jack, the chef . He's hilarious and the high quality + unique sushi here is an amazing bang for your buck.
My favorite affordable neighborhood sushi spot . Salmon sashimi is amazing. All of the rolls are good as is the rock shrimp tempura , crab shumai and shisito pepper skewers !
Great, affordable sushi . Get an order of ohitashi to start and follow with some nigiri , sashimi , or maki .
My favorite Japanese restaurant in NY. Fresh and tasty food, down to earth place and lovely Japanese staff .... always highly recommended: Wild shrimp tempura - miso soup - tiger roll etc ...
this place is amazing, not that expensive , and is authentically Japanese . being Japanese myself, I appreciate when I can find good Japanese food , which is sadly a rarity, even in New York. go here.
The Best Japanese Restaurant in Town . Down to earth, great fresh food , friendly staff . Highly recommended, wild shrimp tempura , miso soup and tiger roll :))
Love this place the most. The toro roll is a good value . Sake in a box for 7.95. Get lit folks
Measly portions but it's pretty damn delicious. Try the broiled fish !! Soft and melts in the mouth!
The Takahachi early bird if you're very hungry, very early! From 5:00-7:00pm inc kushiyaki (skewers ) and sushi among other sides and dessert for $21.50
Sushi Sashimi combo and tiger rolls are the perfect combination here. Yellowfish sashimi and nigiris are amazing.
My husband has come here like 11 years ago with his Japanese friend so a real Japanese restaurant ! Crab dumplings and black cod fish are amazing!
Come between 5-7pm for that Takahachi special! Great deal and comes with soup , salad and dessert !
Excellent Sushi . I had the Sushi Dinner and added a Tiger Roll (which was a special); perfect for a good appetite.
Love the Kinuta Maki (eel and avocado wrapped in cucumber ). We actually get all of our sushi without rice and it's fantastic!
Solid inexpensive sushi spot - always packed. Go for their early bird happy hour .
Jack is the Man ;) he even created a special a special hand roll named after me HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :)) probably u need to show him my pic lol .... ENJOY
Get the sea bass . Baby hamachi / yellowtail if they have it as well .
Great sushi place!! Always fresh food . The specials are always good, especially the baby yellow tail sashimi .
The fish is super fresh. But the real secret is the udon . The broth is too good! I suggest the simple Yasai Udon to compliment you sushi .
the fish is so fresh! the yellowtail and the albacore is like butter and their miso soup is so good too :)
This place serves up some of the best-tasting sushi you can find in the price range, and the staff is always professional.
Good sushi , big fan of the skewers ... also the sake comes in a wooden box; that’s a first for me
Reliable and affordable East Village sushi . The blackened tuna was a highlight and don't sleep on the Udon !
Authentic . Different. Place to explore. Was genuine but happily surprised by how quickly this became a favorite spot
As the only decent Japanese food in the on avenue A. And walking distance from my apartment ! The spider roll is great! Spicy tuna , not so much.
Delicious sushi/sashimi. Take the choice out of it and go with the Sashimi Deluxe dinner specials .
Shumai are some of the best I've had
Get the sushi and sashimi for two, and the Nigori unfiltered sake .
Chirashi and sashimi were excellent. Great value . Casual , clean , and delicious.
It's not bad food but honestly it should be a 7 not a 9. Overall too salty and saucy, more fit for American tastes. Salmon sashimi was thin and not fresh. Recommend una don and scallop , uni sushi .
Lots of variety on their menu for staple items, most of it good. Sashimi was a highlight. Cosy, busy and well-priced.
Finally stopped by since I live next door. Glowing foursquare tips are, alas, undeserved. Much better sushi joints in the neighborhood . Keep looking.
The black cod was a great appetizer . The sushi was pretty good, but next time I would go for their other dishes as those seemed more interesting.
The Best of All Time & Japanese Restaurants in NYC
Brought a friend who had NEVER had sushi before and he LOVED it!! The service...the food...the mini saki boxes...perfect<3 Can't wait to come back!! Soon!
Great rolls for reasonable price. Avoid sitting at the bar near the hostess unless you want to dodge plates coming at your head left & right
Inexpensive and decent sushi . Tuna tartare is great. Beef skewers are a pass.
Tasty sushi and nice environment. The crab dumplings were great!
My favorite sushi place in NY. Get the raw octopus if they have it
Solid reasonable neighborhood all-time fav. Go early if you want a chance for the hamachi kama . Order from their daily specials menu!
Good service . Cheap fresh sushi . Expect a wait.
Excellent sushi and appetizers
Skip the special hand rolls and order the real deal: sushi sashimi combo for 2 with a side of Uni
