Super cool modern space... After being inside, enjoy a walk in the park around the museum . Walk a few blocks down Gertrude Street for some unique cafes as a change of pace.
Awesome experience! Very sensitive and scary when next to the bugzzzZZZZ. You can explore for hours and get lost in the world, nature and society histories!
It's one of the best museums I've been to! The science section shows so much dedication and love and insight! Great for young and old, solo and and with family. Definitely a must see in Melbourne! ❤️
The wild - amazing animals in a changing world display is excellent. Augmented reality touch screens and cameras "label" the stuffed animals. Fantastic design and use of technology
This museum hosts different exhibitions ; come every few months to make sure that you get to experience them all! Very educative and fun.
The Afghanistan Hidden Treasures exhibition is small but wonderfully presented and provides a fascinating insight into an ancient culture. Thoroughly worth a visit.
one of the nice museums I've been too. kids area is a helpful distraction for the very young ones
their forest gallery is awesome! try to spot the birds and notice that a whole ecosystem exists in that section of the museum !
Very nice museum . Save some time to learn some things about the World's history.
It's free for students or cheap for anyone else. Easily be entertained for a few hours there! Definitely recommend :)

Kids love it. Especially the Melbourne history section and Phar Lap .
Great place to take the kids. There is always something new to see.
Very interactive and interesting! Can spend a long time here.
Great institution. Night events are the best.
Did you know? Port Philip Bay was dry land as recently as 8000 years ago!
Great experience, minerals and bones collection is HUGE
Each school holiday season we bring our vacation care children here and they love it. WE will be back these school holidays.
Always has great exhibitions . Check out what's on when in Melbourne
Concession tickets are free! ???????? great for international students
Coffee is over priced, atmosphere is basic. Obviously the museum is great and nearby so that is a plus. Seems understaffed and slow on a regular basis. Pricey sandwiches are fresh-ish so best option.
The triceratops is worth stopping by!
There isn't enough hearts to describe this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️????????????????❣????????????????????????????????
Great place to take family.
Awesome, check it out, heaps of fun :-) Especially when the weather is crap! Go to Carlton for some Koko Black afterwards for that chocolate hit ;-)
Check out CSIRAC - the world's oldest (complete) computer... then enjoy free WIFI on your ridiculously small and futuristic smart-phone!
The display of Dino digestion on the touchscreen is hilarious in dinosaur walk. The BONG noise when the sauropod does a poo always cracks me up
Stop by the triceratops!
Everything about it is great
The Menagerie, in the Melbourne Gallery houses a bunch of sculptures of Australian animals , made and commentated by Aboriginal artists . It's excellent
