Excellent day out but I'd pack a lunch unless you want fast food . Wear comfortable shoes - the Canadian pavilion is a bit of a hike and the way back is up a very steep hill
Big zoo , a lot of animals . Interesting stories from zoo keepers. Great splash pad. Worth to spend all day long. We've been there from 12 p.m till 8p.m (after 7pm it's clothed but you can walk around)
This zoo is huge! And there's quite a lot of animals the scenery is also very beautiful during the fall! But the American(indoor) section of the zoo stinks! When I went only one food place was open
In the movie The Santa Clause (1994), Scott Calvin and his son visit the zoo and are filmed in the underwater viewing area for the polar bears . This is the Toronto Zoo.
Go on a Monday morning to see the pandas in peace ! The polar bears have a great space as well . Beautiful zoo but not a lot of cafes or places to sit.
A great family outing at one of the largest zoos in the world. Make sure you bring your walking shoes . If you have small kids, get around easily by renting a stroller or wagon from the main entrance.
If you can spend one day here make sure to check the animal showtimes. Tip: Most of the showtimes are adjacent to other showtimes. If you bring the kids with you they are definately going to love it.
Beat the lineups at the gate by pre purchasing admission & parking tickets at this site: https://tickets.torontozoo.com/purchaseProductSP.aro?sum=Zoo+Admission Gives you more time to see the animals!
It's cheaper to visit in winter and you avoid the crowds, but many of the animals will be gone for the season. It's business as usual in all the (indoor) pavilions though
Plan for almost the whole day if you've never been. In the summer try to get there before 11:30 to avoid having to park in the "other" lot. The Canada exhibit is down a very steep incline, avoid it.
Nice visiting in winter. New polar bear cub is cute . The caribou, reindeer , snowy owl, otter, beaver, polar bears feel right at home in winter.
Parking : Add $10 on top(Free after 4). Because the zoo is huge you need a fast walking speed to glance through all the animals taking atleast 4 hours. Slow walkers need atleast 1 full day.
The gorilla habitat at the African Pavilion is pretty amazing. Also it's right by the new African Penguin exhibit , which is always popular (who doesn't love penguins?).
A huge zoo (with over 5,000 animals from around the world), the big summer draw is Splash Island , the water park .
The best zoo in the world. I have been all over and the treatment of animals is by far the best here.
It is so hot outside but polar bear is here! I couldnt stand when I see them! Also it's one of the biggest Zoo in the world but there are few animals. I think, it's a waste of time.
Divided into seven different regions, the Toronto Zoo is a place to learn not just about Canada, but the whole world. Come in 2012 and get the chance to view the panda exhibit .
Check out the pandas and the gorillas ! I brought students here for a school program and was impressed.
Great place to hang out for the day but be careful with weekend hours, Google search says 6pm but are actually only open until 4:30!
Not the big charismatic animal visitors want to see, but head over to the American Pavilion to see the black-footed ferret. An animal with a rich conservation story, a fight still being waged today!
Visit in the winter, feels like you've got the whole zoo to yourself. Lots of animals very active. Especially the gorillas posing for camera shots :)
We miss the pandas but it’s still a wonderful zoo—polar bears and penguins are a must-see!
I have such a wonderful time seeing all the beautiful animals. One of my favorite place to go.
Panda exhibit and polar bear exhibit were great. We got there around 945a and had great viewings .
This zoo is huge so it's quite hard to see everything all in one day. It took us a while to find any animals, a lot were not in their enclosure .
The Toronto Zoo is looking for name suggestions for their adorable new polar bear cub ! Check out their website to submit your favourite name idea.
Nice in the winter if you don't like crowds
Great zoo . Gorillas are special. Good place for tourists to see big Canadian wildlife .
Grab a membership for the best value - free admission and reduced parking rates. There's a lot of walking - get a Zoomobile day pass for $7.50 (members ride free).
Invest $7 for zoomobile wristbands, your feet will thank you. There is tons to see!
Hard to say what is best time to visit. Weekdays is less busy, but weekends has more exhibits . Early has less people but later is when all the feedings and shows take place. Winter has far less people
Fun for people of all ages! Wear comfy shoes or there will be much regret after you're done
Bring your own picnic lunch , it's much cheaper than the on-site vendors. You can rent a wagon for $5 which makes it much easier to tote your things around.
This zoo is huge, a lot of walking around may be required.
Last chance to pet a stingray in their exclusive live exhibit ! // L'occasion unique de caresser une raie à l'exposition vivante!
If you wear the same color as the zookeepers animals are more likely to come up to you
DON'T seat on zoomobile at all other stations (not main station) for zoo round trip ride, they make you to leave the train and stand at the end of the line at the main station!!!!! So inconvenient (((
The baby pandas are getting all the publicity lately but the baby rhino and polar bears are cuteness overload!
visit it weekdays for less crowded
Make sure you get one of these parking passes. Biggest scam in the world. Instead charging at the entrance like every other park everywhere.
Staff were nice and friendly . The boys learned a lot from speaking with the zoo keepers.
Even though there's over 5000 animals spread out over six different regions, be sure to see our favourite animal of all.. The tiny Pygmy Hippo!
So beautiful
Wow you pay for Parking , entrance, & You gotta pay for rides too this is the biggest rip off wow make the use of your 1st trip
Just like bears but explanations are nice for children
Well balanced nature and comfort. Will be back again next year.
If you're bringing kids, they'll probably want to go on the new carousel just beyond the entrance. It's hard to miss. Cost: $4 each, $10 for 3 tickets. Parents can stand for free.
Wear well broken shoes . The hills in canada area will KILL YOU!
The Zoo has an admission package for people with disabilities whereby a guest with a disability receives a 50% admission discount and one accompanying support worker receives complimentary admission.
If you think you will be here more than twice in a year. Well worth the membership.
Funny polar bear was bathing all the time. You can see it from three different places: tunnel, above and the cave - Alina Reynbakh
This pavilion is huge and there're multiple entrances and exits. It's easy to miss exhibits - Gabriel Seah
Nothing to see outdoors in winter, but there're 2 pavilions and the rhinoceros exhibits which are indoors and so open - Gabriel Seah
A quaint zoo smack right in Toronto proper. Great for a stroll and best part it's FREE! - Alina D
High Park can get busy, but it’s still a gem. A little bit of serenity in the city. ???? - Lawgirl
Not too crowded. The beach is clean. Definitely a good spot to have fun and tan. - Pegah Nzr
Interesting note: they don't have straws available at the cafe due to animal safety. - Laurie Knechtel
The cold pop is so cold, even Sweet Brown would have time fo dat! - Aaron Rahn
