Get the Local Edition, their signature cocktail is a take on an old fashioned and is a real easy drink.
A bar that marries sexy to vintage typewriters in the Hearst Building with a stage for live music . The serious cocktails are also available with a noticeable lean towards mod era classics.
Low lit and often has live jazz music . The Eva Gardner was light and refreshing followed by the Pisco Sour inspired Rosemary Clooney. Finish with the dark spirited Local Edition.
Great cocktails ! I really liked the romper and all the various drinks my friends got. Huge space but a little loud for convos with the music . Live music is awesome. Make rsvps beforehand.
The Rosemary Clooney is one of my all time favorite cocktails . Dangerously delicious and surprisingly strong. I don't recommend a fourth. ????
Great choice of cocktails . I tried Lieutenant Gov'nr, which was whiskey-based yet citrusy (w/ perf touch of cinnamon ) and Sir John Watts. Great seating/standing area. Highly recommend
What's good here?? What a question! This is and underground 1930s newsstand themed lounge with LIVE music - not just music - a FULL band. I had an amazing beer and their 'barbarella' cocktail - amazing!
A truly unique place. Jazz band in the background, old typewriters on the walls, and the slight feel of a strip club . Very elaborate drinks. I recommend giving it a go and enjoying yourself.
Spacious . Meticulously designed. The drinks are great. The service can be a bit slow. Make a reservation online if you want a table. Also, they can accommodate large (50+) groups with enough notice.
Lots of space and great cocktails . Don’t remember what it’s called, but there’s a cocktail made with coconut milk and tea , and it’s ????
Great space underneath the city in the downtown. Great place for larger crowds. Good service , and pretty good cocktails
Awesome cocktails . Local Edition is great twist on Old Fashioned . Bartenders are nice. Live music even on Tuesdays. It’s not too loud to drown out conversations.
Live music on Mondays and Wednesdays! Fun atmosphere ! Great cocktails ! Try the "Local Edition"
Great atmosphere & amazing cocktails ... Be prepared for a big crowd & a really long wait times for a drink. Once you get your drink you will forget all your complaints. Worth it!
Officially one of the best cocktail bars in SF - the old fashioned in particular is spectacular! ????????????
A speakeasy style bar that's literally underground. With live music , hand-crafted cocktails , and hushed, dark vibe, this is a great place for a swanky date!
Come on Tuesday! They have a thematic with swing dancer and awesome band! Drinks are uniquely interesting and nice.
Cocktails . Try a Manhatten og rittenhouse Rye , or old fashioned on Four roses single barrel
Little speakeasy but not easy to find. Look for the big clock in the window of the Hearst building . Downstairs is a dimly lighted bar themed on old-school newspaper. Cocktails are very crafted!
Cool place if you can find it! Pretty big venue with lots of tables making it a great spot for nice conversations with your friends or co-workers. And the drinks are good too:)
Cocktails take a while to get so bring a fun/patient friend to hang with. Pimm's cup are on point! On par with Romolo. Go, keep a open tab & be kind to the servers.
Yellow kid . So good I don't want to try anything else (although I have. YK is still the best.) Gin lemon dill syrup velvet falernum vya dry vermouth ginger beer . $11.
great spot, lots of space to move around. does take a while to get served at the bar (guess it was a busy night). Oh, and you are in a historic space ...this is where Hearst printed newspapers !
1920's themed cocktail bar with a speak easy atmosphere. Awesome place to meet up for a cocktail - lots of seating and standing room.
Very cool speakeasy right on Market . Old newspapers from 1900s on display everywhere. Packed weekend nights and lines are long to get a drink. Really dark, but a neat throwback to prohibition era.
Fabulous little speakeasy--look for the clock in the window of the Hearst building , facing Market . If you like bourbon , try the Local Edition. Beware, it can take a little while to get your drink.
Speakeasy-esque atmosphere, craft cocktails , and hipster bar staff . If you're looking for a romantic and dimly-lit date spot , this would be a good choice.
Great for after work drinks. More of a starting point than a final destination, but the cocktails are great and it has a cool vibe.
Great live music and drinks! If you dont know what to get ask the bartender . So many awesome old newspapers to check out too!
Cool underground cocktail bar in downtown SF. Has minimal dress code (no athletic wear iirc). Sometimes live music .
Very cool bar has a speakeasy feel, huge space downstairs. Had a live band playing on a Monday night. Nice drinks & vibes
If I was living in San Francisco, Local Edition would probably be my "it" place to go for a fancy girls night-out or even for a date!
Check their website -- they have amazing live music some nights, without a cover, in addition to the always great cocktails .
Signature Local Edition drink is a nice take on a traditional old fashioned .
Their special Old Fashioned , the Local Edition, is very pricey but worth it!
This place is awesome! As an put of towner the cocktails are amazing! I loved the tycoon! Also the yellow kid is lemonady and refreshing!
Try the Local Edition Cocktail . Great place for drinks after work. Plenty of space so you don't need a reservation .
Amazing cocktail drinks that are fun to watch while being made. On the pricier end, but worth it. Ava Gardner is ????
Great place to have a drink with friends music is at a volume you can hear it but don't need to yell to speak
Good place to grab a drink after work. They're pricey & take a lot of time to make but they're good. Pisco sour is great
Large cocktail bar . Reserve a table or stand at bar . Good live jazz and dancing if you feel like it on weeknights.
Don't miss this subterranean hidey-hole: the entrance is kinda camouflaged. On weekends or during after-work happy hour , be sure to make a reservation .
If you like old fashioned 's that aren't too sweet, you'll love the self-titled local edition cocktail .
If you like something citrusy and herbal, try the Yellow Kid ! (Gin , lemon , dill syrup , velvet falernum, vya dry vermouth , ginger beer )
very busy post work on Fridays, but it is a big enough space to spread out. Try the barbarella - very refreshing and fun!
Gets extremely packed during the week right after work. There’s usually long, long lines at the bar . Nice vibe, despite busy-ness.
Great speakeasy vibe. Bartenders are super knowledgeable . Just ask them to fix you any drink with the local St. George gin !
Great cocktails and sweet Latin beats. Bring your dancing shoes ? Oh, and I hear they have jazz regularly too.
Love love this bar ! Nice and intimate . Rosemary Clooney is awesome.
Great place for after work drinks. Little dark but fun environment.
