Take a break from your usual hipster cafes to enjoy some nostalgia at this old school place. Temp transport back to the past as you have their traditional kopi & toast while watching the world go by.
Get the round bun with kaya and butter..they are famous for their kaya...weekend very crowed as its situated right next to.,holy family church . Very limited tables. Can buy their kaya if u really like
All are good! Especially their kaya buns with butter toasted over charcoal grill . Old fashioned cakes , curry puffs , cream cones , custard puffs , egg tarts etc... Authentic Hainanese style!!
Come here for comfort food (runny eggs , kaya toast ) in a nostalgic 80s Singapore coffee shop setting. Be warned - limited seating .
Very Crowded during breakfast timing .. Kaya bun was really cheap $1 , kopi n tea O $1 each as well ! Personally find that butter can be more generous ????
Traditional touch of local breakfast . Lightly toasted bread alongside with kaya and butter. Simple is good.
Order their kaya toast buns , soft boiled eggs , luncheon meat buns , chocolate cupcakes and a Singapore Style Kopi to go along. Now thats the real Singapore breakfast experience. @Dndbay.com Read more
The traditional Kopi (coffee ) and kaya toast are why there's a line out the door.
After a two year closure, CMC reopens in a partnership with the Ebb & Flow Group in its original location! The East rejoices!
Kaya bun , old school vibe, egg tart , custard buns . Take away box for 6 pieces of pastry , $1 each.
Breakfast set to die for. Excuse me if I moan while I munch on the freshly baked Buns with Kaya Toast and Butter. A local favorite.
Save the calories from the ready made selection in the display shelves. Ask for the toasted bun - with their homemade kaya & a slab of cold butter!
Yummy kata butter buns ! Cute restroom looking environment! Full of people though we couldn't find a seat so we did the out
Other than kopi and toast , don't miss out the sweet little things like cake and chocolate tart .
Always in long queue's especially brunch time but really love their coffee and their kaya buns ... <3
Love the Kaya bun with cold butter and my Teh o. Old school cakes are so good!
Great ambience and friendly service . Like the toast and coffee too!
Standard dropped or what? Coffee aunty can't be bothered to listen to your request and serves u too sweet coffee , and Kaya bun is at best average. It's old school, but is old school poor.
quacky little place with characters to match. nice aunties that bake. you could just order kaya to eat!!
Used to like the Red House (Katong Bakery & Confectionary Co.) that was opposite them a few metres away. That was just so much nicer than here!
Kaya is kind of on the sweet side but come here for a bit of old school breakfast and pastry .
Kaya butter bun is awesome. Egg tart special taste. Coffee is only letdown a bit diluted
Come early if you want to have your regular toast bun with nice kaya spread and butter. Do not forget the scones too
The standards have dropped. Kaya is too sweet and is not prepared in a traditional way. There is nothing special about their buns or pastries . Very slow service.
Heritage hero for serving old school kopi/teh and butter toast . Been closed for a while, so not sure if closed down indefinitely.
Traditional breakfast that is bound to please :)
Have some old school kopitiam coffee with kaya toast (homemade kaya AND bun ). Don't forget the cupcakes , particularly the chocolate and cherry ones.
There's NOTHING GOOD here! The WORST is the SERVICES. Taking order is FREAKING SLOW! The buns are not hot servings, am I ordering something like "cold ramen " ? NOT RECOMMENDED.
Don't miss out their Kaya bread and kopi.
They simply don't bother about their customers. Just concentrate on doing their own things, simply Bo chap about customers sitting down & waiting to make order. Dunno how they survive so many years!!!
Quaint old confectionery. Must try the kaya butter bread and other pasteries. Good stuff and I don't think overpriced....
I’ve been told to order those coconut buttered buns .
The half boiled eggs are so much to die for!!!!

Quite like the tarts and kaya bun . Come to chill . Don't expect a quick breakfast .
Nice pastry yummy.
Good normal singaporean breakfast .
Coffee and cakes are a true blast from the past.
Try the Soft Boiled Egg - velvety smooth #eggs #coffee
The reason the staff are arrogant cos they've been around for a long time. But if you ask me, it adds to an authentic experience.
Every time I go I will buy back 2 tubs of the home made kaya . Being a Hainanese, it feels at home to be there. =)
Love the nostalgic feel and food rocks of course!
A very old school place to enjoy strong coffee n nostalgic kaya toasts . I'm here at 8 am on a beautiful Thursday morning n it's packed !!?!?!!!
Kaya Bun and Coffee was the best!
Location on the map is wrong. It's actually further up the road at the junction with Chapel Road .
Try the Half-boiled Eggs - #eggs
Disappointed with the tea c peng I ordered. Tasteless and only 2/3 full. Asked the aunty to add some condensed milk but still taste the same.
horrendous service continues. our order practically disappeared while other patrons who arrived later got their food. not pleasant for a party with hungry kids. no more!
Enjoy some nostalgia while you sip on thr coffee and kaya butter buns at this coffee joint that remained its 60's flavor till now!
