Incredibly authentic . This is a food court sharing space with a supermarket (kinda-thing). But as soon as you walk in, it all makes sense. Santouka only accepts cash, plan ahead! (The food? awesome!)
The best bowl of ramen in Chicago may be in the food court of this suburban Japanese grocery store . You owe it to yourself to try the Special Toroniku Shio Ramen .
I can vouch for both the spicy miso and shoyu soups . Very very yummy. Pretty good noodles (thin, a little crinkly) and fresh toppings . One warning: the egg is hard boiled, not soft boiled!
"This is an awesome dish on a cold day. Santouka, located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace , is in the Chicago suburbs of Arlington Heights, but it's worth the drive!" Chef Ryan McCaskey Read more
When I explain this place to people, they don't understand how authentic and amazing this place is until I take them. You seriously dream about eating here everyday. Best food you will ever taste.
Excellent. Pitch perfect shio broth, maybe the best seasoned egg I’ve had, and both types of meat had great texture.
After slurping down a bowl of salt ramen — loaded roasted pork , bamboo shoots , fish cake , mushrooms , sour plum , green onions and sesame seeds — head over to the marketplace for some shopping. Read more
Spicy miso ramen ! Def has MSG in it, prolly why it tastes so good. The side rice bowls in the ramen sets are lackluster.
I like the shio and the spicy miso ramens the most.
We're lucky to have this authentic and unpretentious ramen place in our neighborhood . Recommended shio and miso ramen .
There was a 30 minute wait after ordering but ramen was really delicious. Sunday lunch time is crazy at Mitsuwa market !
really authentic ramen . long lines on weekend. come on weekdays or come early ????
It's delish if you're starved for ramen . The shio ramen 's broth is good, but the noodles leave something to be desired. My daughter loves the little ikuradon that comes in the set, though!
Pretty good ramen . Taste-wise doesn’t compare to Ramen Misoya for me. Note: I have no idea what proper ramen should be. Evaluate on taste only.
Their miso ramen is literally the best I have ever had, and I've had a lot.
Good food and place.
Spicy miso ramen is awesome to the last slurp
Still the best Ramen I have come across in Chicagoland.
Don't miss this, it's awesome
Go here for your ramen habits.
Make sure to bring cash cus it's cash only .
The Toroniku combo 'C' (with natto) was quite good.
Great ramen !
it’s cash only ????
Unfortunately I found the ramen here quite bland and overly salted. Perhaps that is because I'm not used the the "authentic " experience.
Good ramen !
Runs out and closes before 7pm! What a nightmare!
Special Toroniku Shio Ramen
