This was the best of the restaurants that I visited while in town . My recommendation: open up the meal with either rellenos de papa or tostones . For your entrée go for the Trifongo . Then, tres leches .
At this warm little Puerto Rican restaurant in the South End, the most warming thing on the menu is also one of the best: soup . The cream of plantain is comforting yet nuanced, with a garlic backbone. Read more
First time there last night for an early pre-theater dinner . Relaxed service, great mojitos and the food was unusual (for me) and delicious. Very reasonable prices for the quality and portions.
I've been to the sister restaurant Merengue in Roxbury, the food is amazing at both locations. if you are looking for real, really good and tasty food you must visit Vejigantes.
Huge portions of tasty Puerto Rican dishes. Bring lots of friends for sharing. Loved the frozen tamarind margarita and pork chop entree.
My god, this was an amazing place. Authentic puertorrican food and gigantic servings. All is good but try Mofongo Relleno .
While food tastes good, and prices are great, I'll say it's not completely authentic . Servers are nice, has Viejo San Juan vibes and the ambiance is good!
Purveyor of fantastic, authentic Puerto Rican and Dominican cuisine. Get the trifongo , chicharron de pollo , paella , finished by a sangria .
it's pronounced "bay-he-GAHN-tays" // brand-new in 2012, this is a pleasant walk from the back bay area. here's a mobile-friendly menu: http://bit.ly/RnNzq4 Read more
It feels like a portal to old San Juan. All of the patrons and the servers speak Spanish, and the ambience is authentic Puerto Rico.
I tried the Alcapurias, churrasco , mofongo and of course, rice and beans. All were delicious
Amazing flan ! Delicious coconut shrimp . Good for large parties. Most of the spice is in the sauces.
Very lively atmosphere , service was great, food was amazing. Would definitely comeback! Crab cake appetizers were incredible.
The coquito martini is awesome but the Spanish rice , plantains , and chicken are the winners here.
churrasco , plantains , quick and pleasant service . their chimichurri was great too.
Love the place and food its like my mom cooking and Ppl were so friendly . Def would go again
Bistec a la jardinera and arroz con gandules is my go-to and can't be beat for that price!
Really good white sangria . Also the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce
Great date restaurant , really authentic Puerto Rican food. Try the 'pastellitos' !!!
Great food and great service..loved our waiter Victor, would definitely come here again.
The Steak with Chimichurri was delicious.
Tamarindo Martini is very nice. Not too dry, not too sweet.
Lunch is plentiful and authencially tasty.
Order the "mofongo de yuca con cerdo". Best mofongo ever!
Disappointing. This was my first time trying out the cuisine, and I found it bland.. nothing spectacular (paella and mofongo ). The guava mojito was amazing though.
Great mofongos and mojitos .
The garlic sauce is way too strong but everything else is ????
The Paella Artesanal is not only beautiful but tasty. Read more
Great food. Try the mofongo .
The seafood paella is awesome
Mofongo is my favorite
Service here @vejitantes continues to be hit or miss. We had reservation at 8, waited til 9:30, left after getting repeatedly passed over, so much for being next in line ... Just unacceptable.
Food was really good, service could've been better
We have reservation and waited an hour so far with no end in sight. Wish I had spoken Spanish, clearly would not have lost our place in queue. Hugely disappointing.
Wheres is this at neen lookin for a puerto rican restaurant
Excellent authentic puertorrican food
carnitas, yellow rice, batatas, and some of the best picked onions i've ever had. always enough for 2 meals. - Vivian
The service is great! Have the chicken pastelito (empanada). - A S
You have to try one of their fresh juices and their Tostoncitos with Guacamole y Hogao!! Bandeja Paisa is super popular here! - Viayra
Try the Reese's Pieces Peanut Butter Cookie - Awesome. Very chewy and peanut buttery - Mike Chau
