Had a lovely birthday booking here. Nice setting & staff . Quiet on Fridays & Saturdays for the area (though booking is advised). Great chips , good gastropub menu. Not cheap but generous and well-made.

It's lovely traditional English pub with good quality food and charming decor. I'm told it has only one of two snob screens left in London!

Great little local gem tucked out of the way, with a nice terrace . Lots of interesting bottles and cans beyond the standard draughts . Great Sunday roasts .

Dodgy baristas are constantly looking to give you a larger bill, relying on you automatically inputting the PIN code after a few beers . WATCH OUT the sum!

Excellent bar snacks and starters - if you are after a light option.

Best pub food in Barnsbury, streets ahead of the nearby Albion. Slightly ££ but well worth it. Try the pork scratchings and sir watching the hardcore chefs .

Pleasant if typical New Islington pub , expensive and slightly pretentious but nice enough if you can afford it
