Located in Salem, MA, The House of the Seven Gables is a historic landmark that is best known as being the setting of the world-renowned author Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1851 novel. The house was restored in 1910 and is now open to the public as a museum.

Well worth the $12 to explore The Gable house, Hawthorne's birth home and the grounds. The view from the gardens is spectacular!! Must see while in Salem!!!
Loved the tour , especially the secret staircase . Mildly brought out my inner-adventurer! A must see especially for those familiar with Nathaniel Hawthorne .
It's an amazing tour to go on and our guide Pablo was really informative and helpful even brining us to the Hawthorne house after for extra info. Great sites and a must see in Salem.

Cool house, the tour inside is short but nice. You can also visit the author's home birth house right next to it
The legacy tour is a collection of actors speaking to you about some of the history from the Hathorne family and the town during the Witch trials.
A must see! Jeff was our guide, which was cool bc he was our guide w/ Spellbound Tours the night before. Very informative tour , the house is beautiful and the history is rich.
Beautiful place. Definitely NOT accessible for those with mobility issues. Also, may be difficult for larger folks since there is an itsy staircase that wraps behind a fireplace that's hard to climb.
The new to me Visitors Center was very nice. Lecture was excellent

Lots of stairs, some are pretty narrow, very low ceilings. Otherwise, the tour was amazing!

The spirit part of it is amazing at night! The actors are all so talented. This is defiantly a must do in Salem!
The back garden (and the ocean view ) are so pretty in the summer!
The spirits of the gables was good, but far warning, not recomended for people who can't climb very narrow and steep staircases.

The secret passage may cause those with claustrophobia to have a panic attack!

The secret staircase made me claustrophobic, and I don't normally get claustrophobic.
