Went on a Saturday night in October. It was crowded and was really cool. Worth the wait and the price of admission. The tour guide was a really nice lady that was really knowledgeable
I want to fill my noggin with knowledge about the famous witch trials, walk the graveyard, and maybe drink some nice hot cider . Fear and cider make a lovely pair. Hotel Reco: http://bit.ly/17mzdVR
Really interesting exhibit . 11 wax museum type vignettes that chronicle the Salem Witch Hunt! Second exhibit draws a fantastic parallel to the Fear/Trigger/Scapegoat philosophy of Mass Hysteria.
Not really a museum . More of a tourist attraction . But a neat presentation. They give you discounts for the area with your ticket. We went to Brothers Taverna. Amazing food !!!!
Basic knowledge about the history of Witches , Witchcraft and how it affects today's time. Sit in the middle of the room for the first presentation so you can see everything.
Very happily surprised by the museum . It’s really a museum of how town folks found scapegoats for their trouble. Message of tolerance and openness. I suspect it explains the bad reviews.
Tours are given of the museum with exhibits and a guide explaining the witch trials and historical events of years ago. It can be extremely crowded around Halloween . Off season visits may be more fun

Kitschy af. It's got freaky-looking tacky mannequins in costume all over and a faux-Vincent-Price narration to complete the experience. More like a theme park haunted house than a museum ...
Attraction #1 in Salem! You should always know the history of the place you are visiting. Here it is told in an easy and interesting way!
Just an all around great experience stopping here in Salem! Highly recommend all the tours here!
More of a "narrative experience" than a museum . Worth a visit for sure, but if you've read or seen The Crucible you won't learn anything new.
It's unfortunate that the lovely presentation is tainted with the current political fashion of racial division, in the recorded narrative .
The museum was an interesting place to bring my nephews. They found it cool and fun. It's more of a place to bring your young ones.
The Salem Witch Museum brings you back to Salem in 1692. Experience the drama of history in life-size stage sets, figures, lighting and a stirring narration .
Not really sure why all the negative comments. We really enjoyed it. Very informative . Great history of the town provided. A must do !
Salem Witch Museum at 6 minutes drive to the northeast of Salem dentist Essex Street Dental Medicine
Tackier than a black velvet Elvis painting - you HAVE to come here! This kind of spectacular tacky is hard to come by! :D
Original and the best give a good overview
Pretty much the cheesiest thing in Salem, don't go in expecting a lot of info, but do expect over the top narration and the oldest wax figures on the east coast.
Excellent experience, really felt like being present in those times of witch-hunting season
don't sit on the edge for the first part of the presentation because you won't be able to see half of the show.
A bit dated but still enjoyable and informative. Probably worth it.
Disappointing. I was expecting more artifacts , but it’s really just two mini presentations by poorly done manakins. Skip the museum and watch a documentary about the Witch Trials instead.
Very informative. The real story on the history of witches in the United States . The tour takes around 45 minutes.
fun way to learn about the salem witch trials
A little cheesy but a lot of fun, relax listen to the story and have a good time
First part remains classic in a kitchy presentation a la Disney's Hall of Presidents. Second part is simplistic Public Service announcement about Wicca . . . Disappointing.
Sit on the floor in the middle for the best view ! If that's not possible, go for the right side ;)
Good history, a bit cheesy . Wiccans will appreciate them for teaching the truth about the Craft.
Pretty average. The presentation was interesting, but I wished they had actors instead of just wax figures . It's still very interesting information though.
There is nothing to see, the whole museum is made of 2 rooms. It was "house of horror in an amusement park " cheesy. I already knew more about the Salem witch trials than what they present.
This is not the witch museum you were hoping for; virtually no historical accuracy and no sense of the significance of the trials. I'm sure there's something better in Salem, but we didn't find it.
Make sure you sit in the middle for the first part of the show, or you won't really be able to see everything.
Not really a museum . No artifacts or pictures from those days. It's more of a history of the trials & kind of cheesy. Informative, but nothing I couldn't have researched on my own.
Lame! Save your money. Better buy an ice cream and enjoy walking thru the city .
i highly enjoyed this and found it nice of children.
This is unfortunately a waste of time and money. The technology is from 50 years ago and restates what you remember from The Crucible. Seek out something with better information.
I usually don't care for the tips people leave because I like to see for myself, however it's definitely not worth $9. Just a bunch of wax figures in a room and a recording about the trials.
I have never laughed so hard at cheesy wax figures and bad voicing in my life. It was informative, but I couldn't stop laughing at how cheesy it was.
Skip it. Not really a museum at all. Old wax figures and a 20 minute recorded narrative with some details of the trial. Lazily done.
Make sure near Halloween time you get in line early to get your tickets in advance.
It was interesting but if you've read or seen the crucible, there's no difference but I'm glad I got to go
Been there was the worst thing I do. Not a museum at all, don't lose your money and time. Going to Salem, better walk to the market , or stay at Boston or go the outlet!!!
Most fail to realize this stands as a reminder that our Freedoms of Speech and Religion continue to be under attack. Nothing about that is hokey.
OK tour . Was hoping for a bit more but its all good. Humorous that $ is being made on an event were people weren't witches. Now its the home of 800+ Wiccans.
Cheesy but great for kids
It's a two room museum with nothing to see really..!!
Very educational !
A bit cheesy for adults but good for kids .
A must see! Jeff was our guide, which was cool bc he was our guide w/ Spellbound Tours the night before. Very informative tour, the house is beautiful and the history is rich. - Pearl S.
Cool museum interactive and interpretive. The tour guides are really informative and really into it made the whole experience. Well worth it. - James C
Love love love everything. .. so amazing...exaaaaact replicas. - Stella P
