Good Chinese food in authentic atmosphere with cheap Tsingtao. I recommend the Beijing Duck .
Ambiance: poor. Service: okay. Food: absolutely delicious. Try the soup dumplings (soup-er juicy ????), crispy shredded beef , and the scallion pancake . CASH ONLY !
Why get in line @Joe'sShanghai or @NomWah when you've got Joe's Ginger around the corner? Seriously delicious soup dumplings &scallion pancakes , it won't hurt to be adventurous and try something new!
Soup dumplings . Peking duck is also good - comes with pancakes , hoisin , scallions and cucumbers - but not enough to cost $21. Either way - if there's a wait at joe's shanghai.... Just come here!
So much better than Joe's Shanghai! I prefer the straight-up pork dumplings to the pork & crab . Try one of their fried rice dishes, you won't regret it.
soup dumplings . chow fun . pan fried noodles . the veggies . all were solid and so cheap . best part: you don't have to wait for a table.
Same owner of joe’s shanghai, same food : soup dumplings obviously. They have the beef version here tho compare to the other location. It’s usually less crowded here
The pork soup dumplings were delicious. I also got the chicken lo mein and loved it! Everything is good here
SOUP DUMPLINGS! But beware, don't bite into it too quickly or you'll burn your mouth. Scallion pancakes are really good as well .
The sweet and sour fish and tofu Szechuan style are absolute favorites. Soup dumpling are also a must.
Joe's Shanghai & Joe's Ginger are on same block, serve same soup dumplings . Don't wait two hrs outside former, when u can walk in and be seated at the latter.
Go here instead of Jo's Shanghai. Same menu/chefs. Same awesome legendary dumplings . Wonderfully civilized atmosphere and friendly service unlike its tourist trap neighbor.
The best soup dumplings ! Get the pork dumpling and order the green onion pancake (warning: the pancake is greasy).
Vegetarian dumplings not good, scallion pancakes too crispy for my liking and vegetable bun was good but vegetables in it could’ve been more flavorful. Not for vegetarians given options in the area
As many have said...same owners/cooks as joe shanghai (tourist trap). Get the CRAB soup dumplings . I'm an eyewitness to the staff cracking open real crab for their dumplings !
The soup dumplings are supposed to be from the same kitchen but there is a marked difference. Generally speaking it's minor but for people who've been going there forever it's very very apparent.
Try shanghai thick noodle stirfry, YES! (Recommended a guy grew up from shanghai). Be aware of the only lady staff at the cash counter tho, very impatient!
a small, noisy place but good dumplings and reasonable prices.
the menu is long (as menus often are in this neighborhood ), but you only need order the first two things on the menu. #1. crab meat soup dumplings . #2. pork soup dumplings .
Short-tempered waiters and good food. No frills but fun. Shorter queues than Joe Shanghai just a few doors down.
You really need to order 2-3 dumpling soups that to satisfy yourself. It's cheap and tasty!!!
Actually the best is the pork soup dumpling the crab is more expensive and has almost no crab I would not bother so much for other dishes
This place is the same as Joe's Shanghai, minus the crowds. Order lots of soup dumplings and scallion pancakes .
Do not order the vegetable dumplings ....but get the pork soup dumplings sooooooo amazing
I would just recommend trying the soup dumplings and maybe thats it????
if its the middle is summer ask to sit upstairs as there is AC upstairs but none on the main level
Soup dumplings are awesome. Go here instead of Joes Shanghai.. its practically next store, shares the same cooks/menu, and you don't have to wait for a table!
Same soup dumplings as Joe's Shanghai in a less hectic atmosphere.
Come here instead of the roach, rat , and tourist infested Joes Shanghai !
The sauted seasonal greens, snow pea shoots , are delicious, and they are not on the menu ?
Come with 15 people so you can just order one of everything!
The food is amazing but the service is not good
The pork buns are to die for.
Known for the soup dumplings
Got the soup dumplings and was majorly disappointed ???? Tough shell, not a lot of soup inside. Not a lot of flavor either. Sad.
Truely miserable guy serving - dire atmosphere!
Wow, the pork soup buns are to die for!
The soup dumplings is comparable, not as good as queens location though, fish (seabass ) ordered wasn't as fresh though:(. If u want dumplings without the wait of other spot, come over here!
Joe's Shanghai goodness without the crowds.
Highly recommended! Awesome food!
Try the soup dumplings ! You don't have to wait in joes ginger !
Completely agree with other tippers, the Soup Dumplings are other worldly...
Get the dumplings
Soup dumplings !
Soup dumplings
Great dumplings
Best soup dumplings , worst service.
Don't order a beer ! It'll end up being more than the dumplings
Joe Shanghai without the line !
Food ranges from terrible to mediocre. The only safe option is the XLB. Beware the nasty lady manager.
One of the best places to get Chinese Food... Really clean and cool location. Try the Frog Meat Congee!!! - Ron C.
Wow - try the congee with thousand year egg and pickled pork. Great depth of flavor. - Monday Lisa
Try the Xiao Long Bao - #bestever The best XLB I've ever had, the perfect blend of flavor and still soupy. - Crystal Brown
The black sesame and the ginger ice cream was AMAZING. Definitely worth venturing here :) - Alex F
My favorite is Sitting Buddha. also loved Kale in Comparison (if you like green) YUM! - Mafe Sotillo Lairet
Great bubble teas with a good variety of flavors and option to modify sugar levels. IMO, better than Vivi's or Coco's. - Honghui Yu
