Harry Ransom Center (HRC)

The sources at the Harry Ransom Center make your research papers and projects so much stronger! Many incoming freshmen are not aware of the extensive academic collections on campus.

This place is more helpful for research than most libraries on campus! An amazing selection of original documents in the archives . There's also a gallery space that changes out each semester!

Known for having the Gutenberg Bible and the First Photograph ; also features special exhibitions that switch out every season. Great research library on the second floor. Admission is free!

It has a Gutenberg Bible and holdings that include documents of authors such as John Steinbeck, Tennessee Williams and Norman Mailer, along with Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's Watergate notes .

Home to historical archives , books , photos and art . They include the Gutenberg Bible, the first photo, manuscript collections from James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, T.S. Eliot, D.H. Lawrence and more.

Come see the Alice in Wonderland exhibit . Just know that they close the upstairs at noon on weekends. :-/

Make sure to check out old locks Edgar Allen Poe's hair, as well as the rest of the Poe exhibit . There's even a section dedicated to "The Telltale Heart."

Rotating exhibits can be seen at the center; permanent displays include a Gutenberg Bible and the first photograph ever taken.
