Best croissants anywhere in SF and probably California. This bakery is owned by Armando Arsicault, a third generation French baker; his recipes have been passed down in his family for generations. A++

katrina panovich

Everything is amazing. Chocolate croissants fresh out of the oven were so good that I felt self conscious eating them around other people. I had a sample of a scone that was the best of my life.

Jess Falkenthal

Best chocolate croissant of my life! The perfect combination of crisp & flaky on the outside and gooey deliciousness on the inside.

Eater

The Arsicault version is "preposterously flaky," according to Bon Appetit magazine, who put the tiny Richmond bakery in the spotlight after naming it the nation's best new bakery in 2016. Read more

Named Bon Appetit's "Best New Bakery in the US" for 2016, lines at the bakery are now over 2 hours. Call ahead to place an order for pick-up for the next day. ????

Emily L

Always weary of American bakeries that purport to have good croissants but these are legit. Price is also quite good (esp. compared to Tartine’s $6). Service is very fast, a well oiled machine.

Melissa Dagdagan

The plain croissant is so perfect to me. I have yet to try the other variations . I also like the kouign amann !

Ashley Rose

Oh-My-Goodness. Arrive early so you can taste fresh out of the oven flaky buttery gooey that is a Ham and Cheese Croissant . Also serving up equator coffee . The perfect spot if you loved Croissantaria

Brittany Birdsong

When fresh out of the oven, Best ham and cheese croissant and almond croissant in the city . They cook in small batches with high turnover on the weekends which means everything is delicious and fresh.

Odile Roujol

Best of the best in San Francisco. A state of the art , un artisan de renom. Lucky us to have people with a passion like its founder ( so refreshing after bad french bakery experiences in SF )

Evan Chen

Best croissants ???? ever, my favorites are the ham and cheese , chocolate almond , or just have it plain. I’m still thinking about the ham and cheese croissant !

Kat ????

Their Kouign Amann is so nice and flaky - one of the best that I've gotten! But Plain Croissant and Chocolate Croissant are not as impressive. Also, the staffs there are pretty rude...????

Benjy Weinberger

Everything is amazing, but the chocolate-almond croissant , in particular, is like a fluffy cloud of delight made out of angel feathers and unicorn breath.

J John

Croissants aside, Arsicault makes the best chocolate chip cookie anywhere in N. California (runner ups are Goody Goodie, Anthony’s, maybe one more place to be named later). A+++ ❤️this place

Laurence B

The chocolate almond are very popular but I actually prefer the regular chocolate . Light but buttery and just the right crunch on the surface with a tender interior.

Chris Lake

Literally the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever had in my life. (I don’t claim to have been to every amazing bakery ever, but I’ve been to some good ones in Paris, NYC, SF and elsewhere.)

Alan Huang

Hama and cheese croissant was pretty amazing. Was one of thrast to snag something midweek. Around 10am. Waited about an hour.

Karla

Lives up to the hype. Line moves fast and the croissants are amazing.

Lauren R

Get the chocolate almond croissant . It’s amazing ????. The line is often long on weekend mornings, but moves very quickly.

Sarah Mitroff

The chocolate croissant rivals ones I’ve had in France. It’s the best chocolate croissant I’ve ever eaten. Almond is also good, ham and cheese is excellent.

Shannon Morrissey

Amazing baked goods . Get the morning bun ! It is so perfect - also has a slight citrus taste. Good prices too, but long line if you go after 9 am

Connie Chiu

The best damn almond croissant I've ever had. The other pastries are good too but all you need are the almond croissants . Prepare for a line .

Carissa

croissant , croissant with ham and cheese , and chocolate croissant (it has melty chocolate inside). the buttery flakiness is out of this world!

Demetrios

Amazing croissants , all of them are very good, I'd mostly recommend Ham and Cheese Croissant and the Almond Croissant . So tender and flaky!!!

Ayaka Nonaka

The almond croissants are out of this world! I’d recommend a cup of coffee or tea to go with it since they are quite decadent. ????☕️ ????

Matthias P.

Awesome croissants , best in San Francisco Bay Area. Expect to wait in line …. Well worth it!

Curtis Shoung

You can believe the hype. The crossiant is amazing here. the almond one is a bit sweet. The cookie is legit

Stephanie

Yes, their croissants absolutely live up to the hype. Be sure to also savor a Kouign Amann ! Absolutely no line on a weekday morning.

Jenn Chen

You're definitely here for the croissants , but do not forget the kouign amann . Better order one of everything off the menu just to be safe.

ReeD

The smells. The warm emotions evoked just by walking past are enough to carry you across the Atlantic. Very, very good.

Raymond Li

Best croissants ever. My fav is the ham and cheese but the chocolate almond is a close second

Vi Tran

Definitely lives up to the hype. It's a bit on the more expensive side, but standard San Francisco bakery prices. Pro Tip: go on a rainy day, shorter line .

James T

Believe the hype. The croissants are out of this world good. Must eat fresh, don’t wait.

Joseph Bleckman

Almond croissant and the ham and cheese croissant

Atef Chaudhury

Best ham and cheese croissant in the city

Nicole Rocchio

Best kouign amann I’ve had in the city . The chocolate croissant is incredible. Absolutely worth the wait.

Eric Webb

For me, it's all about the ham and cheese .

ZW L

Best croissant I've had in SF

Stephanie Wei

Obsessed with their croissants . I love their plain and chocolate ones!

jansen c

The croissant is super yum!! I heard that the line could be an hour wait but I got lucky.. 10 mins wait around 11am on Sunday

Garry Tan

Everything here is good. Especially the chocolate almond croissant . Too much is never enough. Beware they only let you buy a max of two of everything.

Jon Rice

Start with a basic croissant to enjoy the technique, then ratchet up the decadence with the chocolate and almond variations .

Bobbie McLellan

Chocolate almond croissant and ham and cheese croissant .

Justin Tsui

Almond croissants are mind-blowing! Worth it even if you have to wait for a fresh batch ????

Spoon University

The satisfaction that comes from pulling apart layer after layer of pure buttery goodness obviously never goes away. #NoFilter needed for this chocolate almond croissant . Read more

Kartik Sathappan

No-frills bakery . Ham & cheese croissant was top notch.

Francesca Gabales

I’ll give kouign amans to B Patisserie but the ham and cheese croissants are the best in the city

Sarah Falkenthal

Two words: Chocolate croissants .

Daniel Mejia

Both the Ham & Cheese and the Chocolate & Almond croissant were incredible!

Alissa Michel

Go early for a warm chocolate almond croissant , best in the world in my book !
