James Buchanan was the first president of the United States from Pennsylvania. This is where he resided and also died. What a wonderful piece of history in the heart of Lancaster County

The Lancaster Historical Society which funds Wheatland is fantastic. Construction has commenced for their new offices , library and archives, located adjacent to Wheatland.
Meridian Hill Park in Washington D.C. Has a beautiful memorial statue of James Buchanan - worth a visit!
Can't go in except with a scheduled, guided tour . Adult rate is $8.50.
