Great time & a lot to see. Make sure U give Urself at least 4+ hours to see it all. When they have the fireworks show I would highly recommend n it'll be the best show U'll ever see. Well worth the $$
If it's your first visit, buy a one-day admission then consider buying a membership as you leave. You can apply the cost of your one-day admission towards the membership fee if you ask politely.
Beautiful gardens ... My favorite are the water lilies, orchids, butterfly plants, & pond gardens near the gazebo & castle tower. But watch out for lots of poison ivy near wooded paths (see photo).
Wander through twinkling lights, poinsettias and Christmas trees at Longwood 's annual Christmas display . Beautifully lit fountains dance in a starry wonderland, and concerts are presented daily.
A fantastic place to take a breath and visit alone and take a nice walk. Bring your family and friends for a view of some rare plants, flowers and the amazing Holiday lights display .
Fantastic mushroom soup in cafe . Bring a change of clothes for the kids after playing in the indoor children's garden . They do hand out towels now too.
Dramatically beautiful and impeccably staged conservatory . The rigors of design are rewarding with epic views all around . Look up, look up! Even the glass topped conservatory has flora and fauna
While you're at Longwood Gardens, take in a complimentary concert . Enjoy the Longwood Organ Academy. Check the schedule on your walking map and be amazed by this organ composed of 10,010 pipes.
What a wonderful place to spend the day, or night! We recently checked out Nightscape and it was incredible! Beautifully maintained with a large variety of plants and flowers to enjoy.
This is good for photographers , artists etc. The flowers are gorgeous, and the children's garden is perfect interaction. This place is gorgeous in all seasons, and open for all. Love. MUST GO!
Everything here is beautiful! The cafe food is yummy, the grounds are amazing. Orchids and water lilies are my faves. Definitely go for Christmas . The lights are beautiful!
Long ride from my place. Worth the trip, but I won't do it too often. Lots of places to sit and rest and enjoy the many awesome views . They have events , too, if that's what you like. Also history.
Without question, the most beautiful, impressive, and variable garden I've been to in the USA. You can easily lose an entire day exploring everything.
Such a lovely way to ignite the Christmas spirit, beautiful scenery , amazing horticulture and indoor flower displays as well as lights and a musical , water fountain show to top it all off!

Longwood Gardens, with over 1,000 acres of horticultural gardens , are spectacular, but after dark during late summer and fall they are transformed with performances of light & sound during Nightscape .
Nightscape is a nice addition. Go on Thursday nights in the summer to see live music in the beer garden before it starts.
Beautiful garden to experience with the entire family. Plan to spend several hours here. Food is on site but pricey . Military discount is offered at ticket office .
Amazing lights at Christmas time ! Take a walk around at night, but make sure you buy your tickets in advance, timed tickets are needed for entry.
Incredible place to visit during Christmas time -- the lights are breathtaking. Prices seem steep until you there -- it's totally worth it.
Great place for kids. 3 tree houses. Indoor children's garden with water play. Grab scavenger hunt cards while you're in there. Outdoor train display in winter.

A MUST SEE if you are in the area! We were staying in South New Jersey and it took about 40 minutes to visit these spectacular gardens !
I wasn't really impressed by the tree houses, but the kids loved them. Main fountain display is closed until 2017. Conservatory was uniformly fantastic.
First visit to this spectacular location. Fountains everywhere, beautiful gardens , wonderful location to enjoy nature.
You definitely want to visit at night during the winter season and see the light decorations!
Children's garden is captivating for kids 18 months and older. Definitely check out the fountain shows as well !

The greenhouse with orchids the manicured grounds with trees topiary bushes the house with with floors which allows changing of the carpets
The idea gardens and fruit and vegetable plants to the west side are awesome and easy to miss. Check them out.
There's never a bad time of year to be here, but orchid season is my favorite.

Do not miss the Italian water garden if you're there in the summer. It's a hidden gem on the outskirts of the property buy its well worth the visit.
