Vauxhall Gardens was a pleasure garden, was located in Kennington on the south bank of the River Thames, and accessed by boat from London until the erection of Vauxhall Bridge in the 1810s.

This is all that remains of Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, a favourite entertainment venue (1660 – 1859) where you could see and be seen on summer evenings, attending balls or listening to music .
Nice for a spot of lunch overlooking the adjacent City Farm
The Vauxhall pleasure gardens is home to many events in Vauxhall throughout the year. Whether it is a the RVT's gay sports day in the Summer, or a mini Winter Wonderland over Xmas.
Handels famous Musi for the Royal Fireworks was 1st performed here on 21st April 1749, stopping all traaffic on London Bridge , it was a rehearsal for the main fireworks display in Green Park
Now only a very vague memory of the entertaining place this used to be but still a pleasant green space
A quiet space with birds singing in the middle of Vauxhall. A place to go when you want to think!
