Once described by world renowned chef Ken Hom as the "world’s tastiest dumpling", it may seem strange that there is such an art to eating something no bigger than the average mouthful.

Amazing how consistent their xiao long bao are, even compared to their international restaurants . That's consistently awesome btw.
Really good quality Xiao Long Bau (Little soup pockets) although a tad pricey . The duck egg custard in fried sesame ball is amazingly good!
Fab Pork Dumplings , even better when you can order the special Truffle Dumpling ! The Shanghai Style Drunken Chicken is also a good pick. A very popular lunch spot
This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Sydney! You must try the pork soup dumplings ! (:
The original Din Tai Fung in Sydney and Australia. This place has the most brand consistent food. Expect to wait during peak meal times.
Given that this is a chain I knew exactly what to expect. Surprised that this is one of the BEST dumpling houses in Sydney though...
Can't help but love this place. Used to live next door to the original in Taipei and - although the original is always the best - the replicas ain't too shabby either
I travelled from other side of world (Sao Paulo/Brazil) and I can say I tasted the best xiao long bao in the world. I recommend it.
Xiao long bao is the best in Sydney. You can't order too many (try one with the truffle ). Beef in black bean and King pao chicken are great!
Pork dumplings , shrimp & pork wonton soup , spicy pork dumplings , spicy pork & egg rice . All good!
Spicy and sour wontons ! And if course their shanghai dumplings . Premium price but the quality is there so I don't mind paying it. I'd go more often if it's cheaper for sure.
Wow this was great. They have truffle pork soup dumplings for a limited time. Try to get them!
Spicy pork dumplings , prawn & pork wonton , egg rice & crispy pork & lychee & mint drink all very good
Soup dumplings are a must, best dumplings ever. Beef stew was delicious, spicy deep fried chicken delicious, green peas with pork delicious. Just get it all!
Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy while you wait for a table. Can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, but goes by quickly while you fill out your order! Loved xiao long bao and the pork buns !
The best xiao long bao in Sydney. I love the spicy won tons . Go well before 12:15 during lunch . Try the golden taro for dessert
Wait staff are curt and rude, not very helpful, but food is served quick and absolutely delicious. I'd recommend the spicy dry noodle wonton dish - the sauce hits the spot!
Top spot! Get the XLB! The Kung Pao chicken and spicy shrimp and pork wontons were also excellent.
Goods haven't even arrived. Just looking at everyone else's food and I'm going to go ahead and say this place is OFF THE HOOK!
Crab and prawn dumplings please! Also you can't go past the lychee mint drink . Get in early at 6pm to avoid the 30+ min queues for 2 or more people. Worth the waif!
Yep. The pork dumplings with black truffles is where it's at. First time the whole fam has been happy together at the same time.
Lychee and mint drink , silken tofu with pork floss and century egg , & pork and truffle dumpling were all superb!
Black Truffle pork dumplings are incredible. Explodes with intense flavors in your mouth.
Pork dumplings are a must!
Really great as per all Din Tai Fung. It was just like other DTF in SEA. Taro dessert was a winner here.
Is the Xiao long bao deserves no.1 title in Sydney? Depends! If you like thin pastry , then you will love it. Otherwise look for somewhere else for lesser wait and cheaper price.
Machine of a restaurant !! Food is good. Service is quick. Not exactly somewhere you go for ambience, but the prawn dumplings are A1.
The best xiao long bao , fried rice and black sesame deserts !
Great food, although service isn't the best. Staff assume you know what to do & menu is a little unclear. Tip: mark your order on the clipboard provided.
Dun wanna wait? Get takeaway for 10% off & eat outside. They'll bring u the dumplings fresh anyway in their steamer and u won't need to wait.
As good as the one in Singapore. Nice open air tables to wait and have a drink. If it's raining the wait can be painful
best xia long bao (the soup dumplings ) at World Square in the city , off George St, close-ish to Chinatown
Love the dumplings with soup inside. But I always seem to wet my pants. Those two statements are connected. I promise.
Of course the dumplings are great, but also try the tofu and veg
Dumplings that make your tastebuds get wood
Excellent dumplings . The best I've had ever.
I really liked this place it lived up to the hype built by my friends, food was amazing especially the scallop dimplings.
Best dumplings in the world but don't opt for the 'vegetable and pork ' wonton soup as you won't find any pork ....
Great dumplings & noodles , but extra things tend to turn up on your order, and don't accept anything brought to the wrong table. Stay on your toes!
Most amazing dumplings ever. Like a Lindt ball in your mouth, only dumpling . The other food is good too!
Worlds best chilli sauce and dumplings to match
The xiao long bao (soup ) dumplings are amazing! You will probably have to wait for a table, come just after they open to get in quicker
Both food and service are significantly not on par with Din Tai Fung in other countries .
Pork dumplings is love
It's awesome, must go with lots of people so you can try all the eats
Thinnest xiao long bao pastry in Sydney. Preserved egg with pork floss and tofu , french beans with pork mince , cucumber salad , drunken chicken , all reliably good. Read more
Last orders for eat-in 9pm. Delicious xiao long bao with light, paper thin skin.
if you have to wait, get a bottle downstairs, pay corkage inside and get some glasses. now make the wait an event !
Obviously amazing dumplings but don't be afraid to try the "weird" stuff too!
soup dumplings . not dumplings in soup , but dumplings containing soup . seriously. and get the sweet red bean ones too. Read more

Arguably the best Taiwanese food in Sydney. Cheap and good quality. Well worth the wait if you don't mind the small table and not too comfy chair. - Dominic Tam
New gold class menu is sensational. Sliders, awesome! New cocktails even better. - Luke Mackey
Fantastic shopping selection for everyone. Not just high end fashion, which is hard to find in Sydney. - Phillip Minuto
