Keith McNally's French bistro is a New York classic, packed and lively from breakfast until far into the night. It's pricey , but reliable; Balthazar may age but its standards haven't fallen.
I went on a Wednesday morning and it was full of important-looking business-types having their power breakfasts . I went on a Thursday night and it was full of tourists . Choose wisely.
Le Balthazar is amazing to see and packs delicious flavor. The desserts are delicious as well I would recommend the mango cheesecake , creme brûlée , and Profiteroles. You will enjoy every moment there!
What can I saw about a classic! While the higher end items on the menu are great, the french fries can't be beat! Some of the best in the city .
Always busy but put your name before you walk around soho and shop. Get the croque madam , fries , bread and butter, and French onion soup ! And an aperol spritz of course.
Amazing! Steak frites , cheeseburger , lobster risotto and beet salad were unbelievably delicious. But, having a goat cheese and caramalized onion tart is the greatest favor that you can do yourself.
Perfect burger and fries for lunch as you take a break from shopping in SoHo. P.S. Look at the ceiling - see the playing cards? Ask your waiter why they're there for a great, insider story.
Sometimes: frisée salad , steak au poivre , shrimp cocktail / always: martinis / never: without friends
One of the best places in NYC ! All the food is great, love the fries ! and I'll always take the "pot de crème" for dessert . The service is amazing. A glass of champagne always waiting at my table :)
This place is one of my favorite restaurants in Soho. Best grilled chicken ever! Dont evet leave without trying profiterole. It has vanilla ice cream instead of cream filling and tastes divine!
French food , trendy , traditional French atmosphere, fully. Amazing wine card , nice service, book table in advance. Good for dates , lovely. Delicious breakfast and brunch . Must
Perhaps the most Soho of Soho restaurants , Balthazar's goat cheese and caramelized onion tart is the ultimate gooey savory prelude to a delicious, Francophilic, comfort food filled meal.
Order one of their burgers , the coq au vin , or the steak frites , and pair it with either a beer or a selection from their ample wine list . Then sit back and enjoy. Read more
With the very quaint French Bistro feel, how can one go wrong with Balthazar? I felt like I was in Paris! One of the top brunch places in the city forever! No wonder lots of celebrities were seen here
everything is delicious here and the service is great, splurge a bit and enjoy yourself. there are 3 bartenders named George so if you’re at the bar call your savior George and you’ll be golden!
For breakfast you must try the french toast on the most delicious french toast i've tried. Great service and the food over all very good.
You won't find a breakfast sandwich on the menu, but if you ask nicely they'll make one for you on a crossaint and it's super super good!
Perfect steak frites , frisée with lardons, and salty, creamy brandade de morue. A look into one of the enormous aged mirrors that line the dining room is as likely to reveal a celebrity or two! Read more
L-o-v-e-d it! Breakfast/brunch time is the best time of the day to experience the atmosphere. Food is amazing! Try eggs florentine and herbs omelette .
The best brunch I've had in the States !!!! So delicious!!! Worth the wait for a table!! I ordered a dish the waiter suggested it was made with eggs , bacon and mushrooms !!!
The meat, the bun , the whole burger was a wow experience. I'd also recommend the roasted beet salad as a starter. The whole menu looked delicious but you can't fit it all!
Balthazar somehow fashioned a magical spot in which Paris and New York embrace like lost sisters; nearly two decades on, it's still the ultimate Manhattan brunch rendezvous. Read more
NY. Whether you are grabbing a croissant to go or dining in the restaurant , this is one of our go-to spots. Balthazar is a chic space for a business lunch & intimate enough for a personal dinner , too.
Lovely Euro setting though possibly bit shabby around the edges, it really only added to its charm. My partner and I bot had steak and fries . I ordered medium rare and it came well done. Still delic
Best breakfast in NYC. Get anything you want, there's a great selection of meals from ordinary omelettes and oatmeals to oysters and steak tar tar .
This place is famous for its brunch -- and for good reason! Its elaborate French dishes and bread basket from its own bakery next door make for a lovely Parisian-style meal with friends and family.
Lovely atmosphere and sincere service compliments very well the delicious food, sweets and wine . Had to wait one week to get a table but worth it.
The peppered steak is coated in dense, charred peppery loveliness. The burger with blue cheese isn't bad either. Reservations can be tricky but They tend to keep a few tables spare for walk-ins.
Treat yourself to brunch at Balthazar, order a French 75 and seafood tower and start your day off right. This place gets crowded . Reservations are a must, unless you want to try your luck at the bar !
The best steak tartare in town . Their Salmon with tabbouleh and pomegranate is a good option as well . Service is good but a little bit slow.

We’d follow that pain au chocolat anywhere, along with oysters , steak frites and the feeling that we’ve somehow accidentally teleported to the chicest brasserie in Paris.
The Bitches say: B-. Balthazar was a little stuffy and tired for our taste, although the service was on point and the quiche was delicious. Next time, we’d just grab a coffee & a pastry next door. Read more
We love seasonal sweets like the spicy-crusted linzer tart ; but all year, you'll find one of the best coconut cakes in NYC; extra-buttery scones ; and mini vanilla , caramel , or chocolate profiteroles. Read more

Good steak tartar and amazing burger as well as steak with fries Service was also incredible Desserts we asked (chocolate cake and apple tart tartin ) weren't at the same level as the rest. Unfortunate
Service was exceptional. Carol was amazing. Went there for brunch . The puff pastry egg dish is the best. Fries are great too. And the cappuccino is very big which is a great thing.
French onion soup , steak au poivre were so good ????????
For an unexpectedly light and incredibly tasty hors d’oeuvre, get the Chicken Liver and Foie Gras Mousse . With such a generous liver portion, it’ll be hard to leave room for your entrée!
orange and sour cream cheesecake with cara cara orange , raspberry , and blood orange reduction
if you haven’t booked a table beforehand, seat in a bar , it has the same menu. Tried meat tartar & French fries - ????best friend is always starving for their profiteroles

From what I gather, one of the last places east of Broadway still serving bernaise sauce w/ their steak frites . Also one of the few spots I've found that stocks Bruichladdich (scotch ). Get both.
A tried and true New York staple. Get the agnolotti with chestnuts and ricotta , roasted salmon , and bananas ricotta tart for dessert .
Loved breakfast in Balthazar. Eggs Norwegian and a chocolate donut . Very well done, good service in a nice neighborhood .
Home to a superlative bowl of French onion soup , enriched with Port , white wines & a browned cap of melted Gruyere .& Country bread croutons soak up caramel-colored broth thickened with charred onions .
Started off on the wrong foot as man attending booking said I didn't have booking when in fact I did. He didn't try to be polite about it. Waiters & food was fantastic, plus great wine list :-)
