Hit the museum on the free days. It's not as crowded as other museums , and it's fun when they coordinate events on the same day.
Park in the first/lower parking lot and use the path for a mini hike to the Museum .
Amazing views of the surrounding area. Best place to take in the view from the top of Lookout Mtn.

Though his will requested Cody, WY to be his final resting place, lawyers fought Buffalo Bill Cody's widow for the right to bury him in Golden, CO. The lawyers won out and his widow is buried here too

Go into the restaurant attached to the gift shop and try the chocolate/vanilla fudge ! It's great!
This is NOT where Buffalo Bill is buried. It's a lie perpetuated by the whole state of CO. He is buried on Cedar Mt in Wyoming.

Wonderful museum with an extensive collection of trains and railroad stuff, a large garden model layout, well stocked museum store and picnic tables! Spend a morning or an afternoon here! - Tom K

Fantastic venue of a concert. The natural amphitheater set in the rocks makes this place unforgettable. Concessions were varied and at typical prices, the bbq I had was good. Definitely a must see. - Greg Fuller
