With 3 floors of books stacked from floor to ceiling, Myopic is one of Chicago’s oldest and largest used bookstores . They also have a curious piece of memorabilia : Charles Bukowski’s “last breath”.

I was amazed how anyone could cram so many books into this claustrophobia-inducing-yet-huge store. Just going from one end of the store to another is an adventure onto itself.

Very put-off by the no phones and ‘no social media’ sign. Has this place never heard of Goodreads or #bookstagram? That, plus high prices for used books , overshadowed the wonderful stacks here.

Super large collection of books and the staff is always helpful. Calvin and Hobbes comic books can be found in the basement level. :-)

Really expensive used books . Great to support your local establishment , but if I'm trying to pinch pennies, I'm going to buy my used books online.

If you have a large bag with you, you will be asked to leave it at the desk. Also, they don't want you taking pictures of the inside.
