With 3 floors of books stacked from floor to ceiling, Myopic is one of Chicago’s oldest and largest used bookstores . They also have a curious piece of memorabilia : Charles Bukowski’s “last breath”.
Creaky staircases and the basement boasting an awesome sci-fi collection make this my hands down favorite bookstore
Very historic usedbook store and one of the largest in Chicago. Find great deals on books as well as unique novels you wouldn't find in your average bookstore . Located in the awesome area Wicker Park !
A really great used book store , huge selection to choose from. I loved wandering through all the sections
Hike all the way upstairs to cozy up in the reading room there. Also check out the basement for basically everything you can't find above ground.
I was amazed how anyone could cram so many books into this claustrophobia-inducing-yet-huge store. Just going from one end of the store to another is an adventure onto itself.
One of the coolest little bookstores you'll find, literally huge bookshelves filled to the brim with used books . Great little place to find niche and used books .
Local poet Larry Sawyer has booked one of the best free poetry series in the Midwest here for years, and in Myopic’s new third-floor space, the readings are even sunnier.
Very put-off by the no phones and ‘no social media’ sign. Has this place never heard of Goodreads or #bookstagram? That, plus high prices for used books , overshadowed the wonderful stacks here.
Super large collection of books and the staff is always helpful. Calvin and Hobbes comic books can be found in the basement level. :-)
Best used book store in the city ! Always a great selection. Great price. Books are in great condition.
Be prepared to check in your large bags. Great place not only for the large collection of books on every subject, but also the atmosphere.

Easily more books than you'll be able to dig through in a visit. Bring camping gear! Note: do not actually camp in the bookstore .
My go-to bookstore in the city . Amazing selection, paired with old school shelf discoverability. Better than Strand.
The selection here is overwhelming perfect. For people who love to get lost in the stacks, this place is perfect.
Three floors of books . One of best classic, local bookstores I’ve ever been to.
The best bookstore vibes & helpful staff
Really expensive used books . Great to support your local establishment , but if I'm trying to pinch pennies, I'm going to buy my used books online.
If you have a large bag with you, you will be asked to leave it at the desk. Also, they don't want you taking pictures of the inside.
One of the most comprehensive used bookstores I've ever seen. Don't forget the basement .
Their knowledgeable staff and unique selection make it a beloved destination for book lovers.
Wander in and get lost for a while. You'll always find something to add to your library .
Lots of used books for great price! They also buy books !
Huge variety here and everything is very well organized !
Awesome selection of books , with a great reading area upstairs!
Check out the rare and out of print books section near the front.
Go here while your waiting for your table at Earwax Cafe . Found some great books here for cheap ! Love the atmosphere also.
I always find a good book for a cheap price here. Nice hideaways to read books .
They have a lot of great used books here
Lots of local books can be found here
Favorite used bookstore in the city . A little pricier than other used bookstores , but everything is in great condition.
One of Chicago's oldest and largest used bookstores , Myopic Books has three floors full of books , an amount totaling over 80,000 editions.
You can sell your old books for $ or receive store credit for them. Huge selection. Be sure to say "hi" to Lenny the cat.
Great experience has wide range of books are there to read.
Love going here to pick up graphic novels . Though i find it odd that they chose to put the comics next to the erotica section. No foresight.
Check out the basement and upper levels.
You're not allowed to talk on the phone here. Super hipster .
It's fun to be here, and I don't even like books !
Cute bookstore with autographed and 1st edition copies
Keep an eye on the time because you can get lost in there... so big!!!
Plenty of places to sit!
This place always has a solid poetry and fiction section
No words for how much I love this book store . Art history nerds rejoice!
Vintage underground-pink ring pickup and gave Valentino my number
Wander the stacks and get lost in some good books .
Lots of hiding places for hide-and-seek.
Great bookstore , claustrophobes beware!
Limited selection of books when you are actually looking for something specific, rather annoyed you can't take pictures inside.
Their zine collection is the best in Chicago. Great place to hang out and browse. - Steven Frost
Excellent selection of books, and the coffee and pastries are great too! - Zara
Almost any book you could want, they have, whether new or old. The employees are awesomely helpful. One of the best bookstores I've been to - Matt Adorjan
Special drinks are amazeballs. Honey latte & peanutbutter chocolate! - Bill Sindewald
The al pastor and pescado never fail to please. Small but focused menu with awesome margarita pitchers too. A Chicago staple/favorite for sure - Autumn Choi
