Few know about this black sand beach close to the Kohala Coast resorts . Head to Mauna Lani, pass the golf clubhouse, then turn at the Shoreline Access sign and get a pass from the guard at the gate.

The beach is great for swimming , diving, the ocean is calm and his color is beautiful. The only thing that does not have enough in tbe beach is a natural shade ???? ???? ????

Hawai‘i law provides public access to all beaches (HRS §§ 115-4 -5, rev 2010). A small car-park is near clubhouse; enquire at gatehouse for directions. Arrive early; if lot is full, it’s a long walk!

Nice secluded black sand beach near the Fairmont Orchid.

Watch out, the current here can be very strong & rip right up at the shore... But the water is beyond blue & the ocean views from the cliff trail well worth a stop.
